Bering 85 is a lucky find: 27 meters of overall length make her the largest in the class, yet she meets the “under-24-meter” regulations perfectly well. Hull

Hull and superstructure constructed using AH-36 marine grade steel. Bottom plates and integrated tanks sides - 8 mm. Hull sides - 6 mm. Superstructure - 5(4) mm.
The hull is divided by five watertight bulkheads creating six compartments.
Flybridge arch, mast and furniture (on flybridge and on cockpit) are fiberglass.
The hull below waterline is covered with three layers of black antifouling paint.
Hull above the waterline, deck and superstructure painted with Alexseal or equivalent.
Yacht quality fairing above the waterline with Alexseal paint finish or equivalent.
All bulkheads are reinforced steel construction, with sound and heat insulation per Bering Yachts drawings.
All the interior steel surfaces of the vessel are treated with epoxy primer after thorough surface preparation.
Appropriate zinc plates installed for galvanic protection.

Motor(er)

Two Cummins QSM11 350 HP @ 1800 rpm continuous duty rated, raw water, heat exchanger cooled with wet exhaust. 24V electrical. Combined total power of 700 HP.
Glendinning EEC4 electronic engine control in pilothouse.
Main engines installed on soft engine mounts model with weight adjusters.
(2) ZF W350-1 marine transmissions with 3.95:1 reduction gear. Includes live PTO and load sense pump (130CCM, SAE-CC).

Steering System

(2) 14 square foot air foil steel rudders with 4" diameter steel rudder stock mounted on rudder shoe bearings. Rudder posts in lazarette above waterline and attach to bronze rudder arms.
DATA DDS 290SL-2 hydraulic power steering system Power steering system contain: Data helm station, AC power steering unit, hydraulic cylinders.The electrohydraulic steering system is controlled by FU/NFU control system and driven by two (2) hydraulic pumps with constant delivery, by an electric motors 230V 50 Hz. In case of emergency, the system is equipped with a helm pump unit located in crew quarters.
Zinc anodes on rudders to ensure galvanic corrosion protection.

Mooring System

(2) 160Kg N-type Pool stainless steel anchors. Fitted using 316 stainless steel pockets - port and starboard.
Divided chain locker with fresh water flush system, drains overboard.
400 Feet of 14 mm zinc coated anchor chain per side. Rated for high working loads.
316 polished stainless steel bow protection plate.
(2) Data DZC 2200-2 EPL/Kr-14K Hydraulıc windlasses with deck foot switches.

Electrical

a. Main features
Entire AC and DC electrical system designed and installed in compliance with CE electrical standards.
50 Hz 220/380V AC power standard.
24V DC power standard.
24/12V DC electronics power.
Primary distribution 230V/380V AC and 24 V DC electrical panels, inverters, battery chargers, batteries and battery management panels are located in the engine room.
Secondary 220V AC, 24V and 12V DC panels are located in the pilothouse.
All wires are labeled at each end.

Black and Gray Water Systems

Poseidon fresh water tank 3 level monitor. Monitors the level in the fresh water, gray water and black water tanks. Located in the lower deck companionway.
475 gallons/1,800 liters integrated gray water tank with enamel coated interior to seal the steel tank and includes a level indicator. (2) Gianneschi MVI 60 55 L/min pump (220V) and 3/4 HP pump (24V) , shore pump out with (2) 38mm (1 1/2") vented loops or equivalent.
475 gallons/1,800 liters integrated black water tank with enamel coated interior to seal the steel tank and includes a level indicator. (2) Gianneschi MVI 60 55 L/min 3/4 HP pump (220V) and 3/4 HP pump (24V) for shore pump out with (2) 38mm (1 1/2") vented loops or equivalent.

Engines and generators are sea water cooled with sea cocks and strainers.

Hydraulic System

SidePower integrated hydraulic system. Includes all necessary blocks, hoses and components to operate bow (and stern) thruster, stabilization system.
The integrated hydraulic system is driven by live PTOs on the main engines and two clutch PTOs on the generators.
SidePower SMERR-130-CC4 hydraulic pumps (130CCM, SAE-CC, right (clockwise) rotation mounted on engines.
SidePower SMJRL-045-CC4 hydraulic pumps (45CCM, SAE-CC, left (counter clockwise) rotation mounted on generators.
(2) Sidepower MTR-550Kg (1,210 Lb.) hydraulic thrusters - bow and stern.
