Sonic has been converted to max prod length with many new sails and has competitive ratings In IRC, ORR and PHRF. Sonic has been continuously updated and maintained. Sonic is "Turn-Key" in all regards complete with entry in the 2022 PacCup.
Sonic is a third generation Farr® Transpac 52, built by Cookson Boats of New Zealand, was developed to compete in both the European and US Transpac 52 competitions and has now been upgraded and made ready for inshore and offshore racing.
- 2021 ORR Certificate available, showing she's one of the lighter 52's out there.
- Watermaker – 2021 – Spectra Cape Horn Extreme 330 with extra Sureflow pump to scoop the water at high speeds
- New electrical system – 2021 – Relion Lithium Ion batteries with 200 AmpHrs capacity. New Balmar XT-170 alternator. New Victron Bluetooth DC meter.
- New electronics system – 2020 – Zeus 3 chartplotter; NMEA 2000 network; B&G H500; four displays in a cockpit; five Garmin GNX-120 masthead displays; new wind wand, etc. per the attached.
- 10 PAX life raft – Daterex – new as of 4/2021. Next service date is 4/2024
