1991 Hunter 289m

This generation of Hunter is that of one that satisfies what sailors want with a boat deck layout that has no restrictions as to hardware placement to accommodate a sail inventory including larger headsails. Many modern deck layouts accommodate a #2 furling genoa, but there is no place to install a genoa track to accommodate larger headsails. The decks are wide and one can easily move forward.  Teak handrails and double lifelines provide the safety you expect. The T-shaped cockpit is self-bailing and nicely accommodates the wheel steering. Below it is warm and spacious with 6’2” headroom, sleeping for up to 6 with a double forepeak berth, port and starboard settees and a large thwartship aft cabin. The galley is L-shaped on the port side. A nav table is across with dedicated seating. The large head and shower is to starboard across from the entrance to the aft cabin.  Both have solid doors for privacy. There is standing headroom for changing next to a hanging locker in the aft cabin.  A center mounted table has drop leafs when not needed for eating or gaming.  The helm seat is removable offering easy access to the scoop transom where the SS ladder makes for an easy swim or getting into a dinghy.  This is a 3-owner boat and the current owners have sailed her for 22 years and feels it is time to get out of sailing.  They have particularly enjoyed the comfort of the interior as well as the rich woodwork and head room.  They haven’t sailed it much in the last several years because of their age, but when they did, they loved how it handled. The sails are in excellent condition.
