NOTICE TO MARINERS WANTING A GREAT PURCHASE. We are lowering the price of this very spiffy Hunter 18.5 from 6,500.00 to ONLY 5,950.00 to hasten the sale ! ! ! This is an unmistakable value as a new Sunfish delivered on a trailer will run you to plus side of 6,000.00 ! !
Super easy to sail, easy to rig, easy to launch, easy to sail, this Hunter 18.5 comes complete with a galvanized trailer with wide oval tires. She is a great starter boat OR a great boat just to go out and have FUN SAILING even if you have had 10 sailboats ! ! She is a good performer with above average stability for comparable 18' to 19' micro cruisers. Only a 1,600 lb boat that includes a 520 lb keel. That is a high ballast ratio to say the least.
Easy to singlehand yet capable of taking 2 couples out for the day and assuming everyone knows one another she can double up as an overnighter with her manageable interior.
And again with her gross weight of 1,600 lbs of that 1,600 lb total 520 lbs is the bulb wing keel. By comparison a Catalina 22 weights right at 2,500 lbs and has a swing keel of 550 lbs. So you might say she has a very adequate ballast ratio making her pretty darn stiff for a "little" boat. But has the benefit of being light, docile and responsive. Certainly not a slug.
The interior is pleasantly appointed with nice cushions and sit up head room. Berths are large enough to give you a good night's sleep.
Complete with a mainsail with full length battens and 2 head sails, this largely FRESH WATER Hunter 18.5 comes with a 2000 model 4 hp Nissan long shaft outboard making getting back to home port effortless.
She recently had a good cleaning including buffing the sides and cockpit. She shines. Additionally the teak trim on the outside was refinished AND we replaced the hatch boards to new so she will bring pride of ownership into play as she is not a beater boat of poor cosmetics.
And to keep the boat dry and protect the new hatchboards she has a new Sunbrella Companionway cover installed - - a 300.00 item to replace.
Last but not least she had new Pettit Trinidad SR bottom paint installed in April of this year - - good for 4 seasons. This is a 1,250.00 Value and worth every penny if you leave her in a slip. Otherwise it just looks spiffy !
In fact we replaced the wooden bunks on the trailer in April 2022 and installed new trailer guide-ons. This boat is wonderful and ready to give you years of enjoyment on the water.
Towable behind a fairly small car, go see this boat in East Tennessee with a hitch attached to your bumper and let the owner help you get on your way to some of the best fun you will ever have. We do take trades, thus if you want to move up in a year or so in size we will be happy to take this great little pocket yacht in trade toward your 2nd sailboat from Rooke Sails.
NOW IT'S UP TO YOU !!
IT'S YOUR MOVE ! !
