BILLFISH BEWARE!!!
Blackfin 38 SF with full tower and Release Marine rocket launcher post. Reliable and strong 550hp Detroit Diesel 6V92TAs. Updated SIMRAD electronics and much more!
Power is provided by reliable and strong Detroit Diesel 550hp 6V92TAs with ~1800hrs. The port engine received a new starter, and both engines received a cooling system service a year ago. A Northern Lights 8kw genset with ~1650hrs provides ample power away from the dock. The batteries are kept in top shape by a 50a ProMariner charger. Additionally, the fuel tank received cleanout ports for ease of maintenance.
514 gallons of fuel and 135 gallons of fresh water are carried onboard, in addition to the holding tank which also has overboard discharge.
The galley features a s/s sink, Princess stove, refrigerator, Raritan icemaker, and microwave.
The interior is fresh and tastefully decorated. Upon stepping into the salon, there is a leather recliner to port and a matching leather sofa to starboard. A large new Samsung flatscreen TV is opposite the sofa along the portside window. The forward galley includes a s/s sink, refrigerator, stove, and microwave. Step down, and the standup head with shower and tile backsplash is to starboard. The head macerator is also new, as is the shower sump box. The master is forward, with a double berth and ample storage. A second cabin is to port, with double bunks and storage as well. Two reverse-cycle AC units, 16k BTU and 12k BTU, keep the cabin comfortable. There is some water intrusion from the port side of the rear salon bulkhead (non-structural) which needs to be addressed.
The helm of this Blackfin does not disappoint. A pair of swiveling helm seats plus forward and starboard-side bench seating allow plenty of seating for captain and crew. Newer SIMRAD EVO3 electronics and 4G radar, ICOM VHFs, Robertson autopilot, Rockford Fosgate stereo, Glendinning syncro, a Dytek sea temp, and FloScan round out the amenities for the skipper. The tower is equipped with steering and engine controls, which are inoperative at this time. The canvas bikini top on the tower needs to be replaced, and the main top material over the bridge has some holes in it as well.
Blackfins are known for their seaworthiness and fishing space, and this 38 is no different. The over 14' beam provides plenty of elbow room for anglers, and a teak Release Marine rocket launcher with 11, yes 11 rod holders provides ample room for tackle and gear. New underwater transom lights add to the ambience. There are also a freezer (inop), h/c freshwater sink, and livewell.
