Avrea was constructed at Williams Boat Yard in Falmouth, Cornwall, England in 1989. Built over the course of three years in a yard famous for exquisite classic and traditional wooden boat building work was supervised by renowned naval architect Alan Pape. Avrea was commissioned and built without any compromise by master shipwright David Walkey. He constructed her using only the best Iroko, teak and mahogany panels available. The deck is teak with detailing of Mahogany. Until 2017 she had benefitted from having been in one family ownership from new, having always been fastidiously and lovingly maintained. In 2017 and 2018 she underwent several major restorations by her current owner.
Avrea is now equipped with the latest, most modern electronics, such as a AIS, a Quantum radar and autopilot, all without interfering with her classical appearance. Her interior boasts a sensational saloon, separate dining and galley. There is a large owners suite aft, v-cabin forward as well as an excellent twin passage cabin between the owners suite and saloon. Her ketch rig is powerful yet manageable short-handed. Sensational deck spaces and really a very usable classic.
