1987 Custom 20' Ellis Runabout

This open Downeast Ellis 20 is a Ralph Ellis designed runabout built at the Ellis Boatyard in Southwest Harbor, Maine. She is a terrific boat to cruise the harbors, bays, and islands with her 60 HP Yamaha 4-stroke outboard motor. The 14' x 6 1/2' cockpit offers seating for several with room under the forward hood to avoid sun or rain. Construction

Handlaid fiberglass hull. Solid fiberglass decks with molded non-skid and coamings. Self-bailing fiberglass liner with non-skid and coamings. Flotation is 2-part foam under liner. PVC guard and toe rails, custom wooden painted bases for the helm seats. Stainless steel bow eye. White topsides, red boot stripe, blue bottom paint.

Engine

2005 Yamaha 60 HP 4-stroke fuel injected outboard motor, Serial No. 6C6 L 1003398K. Single-lever control, 3-blade propeller showing very little use. Yamaha gauges under plexiglass on helm console.

Tank

One 40-gallon aluminum gas tank under platform, fill on starboard deck

Electrical

Two 12-volt batteries in the helm console. Perko Master switch, navigational lights, electric bilge pump.

Top speed: 25 knots

Cruising speed: 18 knots

Inredning

The entire cockpit is 14'7" long x 6'1" wide. The aft cockpit behind helm seats is 6'7 long x 6'3" wide. The liner is gelcoated light tan with molded non-skid on platform and side decks. A bronze bit is on the foredeck, along with stainless steel eye bolt, 4 side-deck cleats and a flag holder. Under the foredeck is a large locker with a teak door in the painted plywood bulkhead. Steering console is molded fiberglass to starboard with storage inside, and port and starboard upholstered seats mounted on plywood lockers trimmed with bare teak. With some cosmetic woodwork, she would be ready for her next boating season!
