Ask a Pearson 422 owners about their boat and they’ll probably use words like “solid” and “luxurious” to describe it. Solid because, quite frankly, she’s a Pearson . That means she inherits a tradition of distinguished engineering. It means her cockpit and cabin are gracefully integrated. It means she holds up extremely well in waters anywhere. Extremely well in the resale markets too.

Luxurious because we gave her many of the comforts of your own home-a bed you can get out of from both sides, a deep double sink, an icebox that’s easy to reach into, a drop-leaf table which seats six. The 422 delivers privact too. Both staterooms have their own heads and showers. The main saloon is a marvel of spaciousness. There is full headroom passageway and, of coursseenough stowage to accommodate even your most ambitious cruising plans.

 The cockpit is an efficient command station underway and a relaxing gathering place at rest. It gives you superior visibility in all directions. And an aft-facing seat is molded into the base of the cabin trunk-yet another thoughtful feature that adds to the boat’s luxuriousness.

Pearson designed the 422 to meet the parameters of a two-couple boat; two comfortable private cabins, two heads with showers and a main saloon for elegant dinging and après sail festivities as well as a big comfortable cockpit that didn’t look like an afterthought. She also had to be easy to handle under sail and while powering and to be maneuverable in tight quarters.
