The Hurley 9.5 Motorsailer was designed in 1970 by G. K. Collyer.It was a 31' centre cockpit, high volume Motorsailer with 'doghouse' wheelhouse. The vessel was offered ketch or sloop rigged. Colin Simpson, an agent for Hurley Marine bought the first one built, 'Hurley Maid' new in 1972.
They are a sturdy boat with excellent accommodation. After Hurley went out of business the moulds were sold to Elizabethan yachts. They were marketed as the Meridian 31 and built into the mid-eighties.About thirty were built by Hurley Marine.
