Every once in a while you come across an older vessel that has been 'well preserved' and has escaped the effects of TIME..... This Grand Banks shows exceptionally well and reinforces the attraction of buying a vessel that has been stored for most of her life under cover, in a 'boat house' in the Pacific Northwest.
TENAKEE is a beautifully maintained and continuously updated Grand Banks 36 Classic Trawler. Built on a FIBERGLASS hull, she has two cabins, each w/ en-suite head, allowing two couples or a family to travel in privacy and comfort.
Recent upgrades include recently updated Garmin XVS Radar/Chartplotter, Vacuflush head w/ a sealand 28 gallon holding tank, mechanically; newer PSS shaftseal, recent exhaust riser, rebuilt heat exchanger, and a Racor dual fuel filter for the 'on the fly' fuel filter switch. Other upgrades include a newer stove and Vetus Bow Thruster, revised electrical system including 3000 Watt Inverter w/ a remote monitor, newer batteries, newer fly bridge upholstery, and much more.
TENAKEE is powered by an efficient single AM Marine (John Deere) 117 HP diesel engine, she cruises comfortably at approx 8.0 knots and reportedly burns approximately less than 4 GPH. Previous owner while in the PNW, docked her under cover, in a boat house for years.

** PRELIMANARY LISTING **
TENAKEE is the one of the finest vintage Grand Banks 36 Classics on the market today. Solid fiberglass construction, impeccable teak joinery and conservative engineering combine to create one of the most economical, reliable and seaworthy yachts afloat. TENAKEE was moored under cover by her PNW previous owners (2 owners ago) until coming to San Diego 5 years ago and her condition reflects the care and attention she has received. Her teak decks and painted window frames, common and occasional maintenance issues on GB yachts, are in good condition.
TENAKEE follows the traditional Grand Banks tri-cabin layout, locating the master stateroom with ensuite head aft and a similarly-equipped guest stateroom forward, separated by the salon, galley and helm station. This arrangement provides exceptional privacy for cruising couples while offering comfortable socializing room when everyone wants to be together. The salon is surrounded by windows and has an L-shaped settee with dining table to starboard and straight settee to port, providing seating for nine people.
The galley is forward to port and includes a dual-voltage refrigerator, propane range with oven, microwave oven, stainless steel sink and a generous amount of storage. Opposite the galley to starboard is the lower helm station which includes engine controls, navigation electronics and electrical distribution panels. Adjacent to the helm station is a door providing easy access to the full walk-around decks.
Two steps above the deck is the aft cabin top which is a great spot for spreading a blanket and enjoying the sun. Three more steps up puts you on the flybridge with built-in seating and a second helm station with superior sight lines in all directions. Covered by a bimini top, this is a great place to spend an evening at anchor.
The single John Deere diesel engine sits amidship with room on all sides for easy maintenance.
There is a generator PLATFORM (No Gen set-was removed) located aft with fuel tanks outboard on both sides allowing free and easy access to all machinery and equipment installed below deck. Wiring and plumbing for a Gen-set left in place and might be able to be used w/ a new Gen-set install.
Electrical and plumbing systems are well-identified, neat and orderly.
LOA is 39'6"
This was changed so if someone were to look up a Grand Banks 36, and had 36 feet as a peremeter, would not show up.
