TOPAZ, previously Viqueen is a 1964 Ed Monk built at Bud Forder's yard in Seattle. She is currently on a private dock on Bainbridge Island as part of a boat loving family. The owners run a successful sail charter business and maintain TOPAZ to a very high standard.
TOPAZ is planked with Alaskan Yellow Cedar over Oak frames and is extremely well built. Ed Monk Jr. the world famous yacht designer from Bainbridge Island has given the owners a big thumbs up for how TOPAZ looks after 50 years.
If you think you'd like to make TOPAZ part of your family come on over to Bainbridge Island to take a look at the beautiful piece of Seattle boating history.

TOPAZ is boarded from either the boarding ladder on the transom or from the side deck next to the pilothouse. You instantly notice that she is extremely stable and has comfortable side decks. Moving about her is a joy with rich details and handrails everywhere.
The covered aft deck is perfect for lounging or sharing a meal. The engines are very far aft and accessed under this platform. There is a ladder to the flybridge and a huge lounging area that is perfect for a scrum of young people. The custom fighting chair and built in rod holders harken back to the days where fishing was a huge part of NW boating.
To enter the cabin there are large solid doors on either side of the pilothouse. The site lines from this space are exceptional and the settee at the aft end can only be described as a couch! Ventilation is plentiful with a large opening window to the back deck and two opening doors. Going aft and down three steps takes you to the master cabin and head. The head has a beautiful tiled shower, full vanity and an electric head. The master cabin has a household double bed with headboard with a hanging locker opposite. There is also a maintenance space forward and under the pilothouse that houses the electrical equipment, fuel filters and assorted pumps and systems. Large opening ports and a big overhead hatch provide as much air as you could ever want.
Forward of the pilothouse is the galley and lounge. The galley has two under-counter front opening fridge/freezer units, a corner sink and tons of storage. There is a sectional couch to starboard and room for a folding table. The very large windows port and starboard open for a feeling of being part of the water-scape around you. You'll never feel like you've been relegated a galley slave in this space.
Forward and down three steps is the forward sleeping cabin with bunks to starboard and drawers below a bunk to port. Opening ports and an overhead hatch provide ventilation.
Forward of the sleeping cabin is another electric head on center-line with a solid door.
The flybidge is very large on TOPAZ and has room for plenty of sight seeing. The comfortable helm seat is secure in any motion and she has full engine controls from here.
