COURAGEOUS is pure classic sailing yacht, designed by Sparkman & Stephens of New York City and built by the venerable Henry R. Nevins Inc. Yacht Builders on City Island. 

Olin Stephens is said to have described COURAGEOUS as a cross between a New York 32 and an International 8-Metre.  Her large, comfortable cockpit, spacious accommodation and proven sailing ability make her equally well suited for both racing and coastal cruising.

If she wasn't so fast COURAGEOUS could almost be considered a floating museum - in that she is almost completely original.  With all of her gorgeous bronze hardware (all made in the USA), gleaming varnish, and elegantly finished interior she represents the epitome of American yacht design and construction.
