The Y7 was created in collaboration with US designer Bill Tripp, considered one of the world's best naval architects. Our goal was to combine comfortable sailing with a competitive performance on the race course.
In conditions where other yachts still use their engines, the sails are already set on the Y7. A displacement of only 29 tonnes and almost 300 square metres of sail area keep the yacht moving even in light winds; Y7 owners don't have to worry about the perfect weather all the time.
All halyards, sheets and control lines run unseen through conduits to the steering columns - so the helmsman can sail the Y7 alone at any time. This is not a matter of course for a 70-foot yacht and allows the owner to sail with a very small crew or even on their own.

The hull is made of sandwich-construction with CORECELL™ M-foam. The complete hull is vacuum infused and consolidated, where the inner structure consists exclusively of carbon.
The hull topsides are finished in gelcoat, RAL 9010. Hull bottom is finished in clear gelcoat.
There are 5 hull portlights on each side of the yacht, 4 in owner's cabin, 1 in galley, 1 in office area, 2 in salon and 1 in each guest cabin. The portlights are made from toughened and laminated safety glass.
The deck is made of carbon / vinyl ester / CORECELL™ sandwich, vacuum consolidated. All bulkheads and reinforcements are made in carbon as well.
Superstructure is finished in gelcoat, RAL 9010.
Custom flush deck hatch. Anchor chain storage. Solid laminated anchor windlass foundation. Watertight bulkhead. Crash box in the lower bow section for additional safety.
Flush carbon deck hatch, stainless-steel ladder for easy access. Floorboards, LED overhead light, electric bilge pump and a 230V socket. Topsides are top-coated in grey.
Large powered custom hatch incl. 2 carbon inspection hatches in cockpit floor for dinghy storage. Possibility of storing a dinghy of maximum size 3.25m by 1.78m. The carbon bathing platform is integrated in the stern while the transom stays fully closed, even with bathing platform lowered. This significantly increases the boat´s safety and keeps the lazarette dry. The transom swimming platform opens electrically. There are steps from deck level to swimming platform.
Shrouds V1 / D1 carbon chainplates with stainless-steel bushings structurally integrated into the hull laminate to achieve maximum bonding and excellent load distribution. The forestay is connected with an integrated electric RECKMANN furler. Spreaders are swept back approx. 30°.
The engine tray is fully incorporated in the hull positioned under the salon floor with space for 2 engines and special attention was paid for best thermal and sound insulation using 50mm open cell PU foam. To achieve extra strength and rigidity, the engine tray foundation is fully laminated to the hull. SEAFIRE automatic fire extinguisher system is installed in complete engine compartment. Engine compartment is finished in gelcoat, RAL 9010, for practical and maintenance reasons.
All bulkheads are made in carbon / epoxy / DIVINYCELL® foam, vacuum consolidated. For more strength and better load distribution there are additional carbon fibre reinforcements around doors, cut outs and cable penetrations.
Integrated carbon bow sprit, fixed, with stainless-steel anchor roller and fixing point for the code 0 or gennaker, well separated from the forestay.
All walking areas plus cockpit are covered with synthetic teak material and light grey caulking. Complete decking is vacuum glued. 35mm high toe rail is mounted along the complete outer side of the deck. All the deck fittings like padeyes, railings, cleats and deck infills are finished in high-gloss marine stainless-steel. All deck gear like HARKEN winches, stoppers are matte-black anodized.
The deck is incorporating a bowsprit which holds the stainless-steel anchor fitting with rollers together with chain guide. The bow has a gennaker tack on fwd nose and fixed padeye for the code 0.
PULPIT, PUSHPITS, STANCHIONS AND LIFELINES
Pulpits port and stbd are made in stainless-steel with LED navigation lights. Stainless-steel push pit with LED stern light and bracket for stainless-steel flagpole. 2x6 stanchions and 2x rail gates. 2x padeyes in cockpit for safety harness.
There are 6 ANTAL 420mm aluminium roller mooring cleats in total: 2 at the bow section, 2 midships and 2 aft mounted on the bulwark. 2 stainless-steel fairleads in the bow section.
WINDOWS, HATCHES AND PORTLIGHTS
The fixed flat windows in deckhouse are made of tempered glass, securely attached and sealed off to the deck. Manually operating custom made acrylic sliding hatch for main companionway with lock and washboard. All hatches are flush mount in numerous positions. Large custom carbon flush hatch on aft deck for dinghy storage. Opening portlights in cockpit for aft guest cabins. All windows, hatches and portlights are tinted.
For safety reason the mainsheet fixing point is as far as possible separated from the guests. A single point 2:1 purchase mainsheet on aft deck close to steering consoles. Mainsheet is operated by electric winches.
HARKEN custom self-tacking system to make single hand tacking easy. Custom track for self-tacking jib. Mini-maxi hi-load car with stand-up block and stoppers. Sheet for self-tacking jib, 2:1 purchase via sheave at mast and halyard block.
BLOCKS, JAMMERS AND FITTINGS
2x5 aluminium halyard blocks at mast foot. 4x padeyes on bulwark for halyards. 2x5 jammers.
2x ample cockpit tables with folding leaves. Built in composite lightweight material, massive teak countertop.
ANCHOR, CHAIN AND WINDLASS
Anchor LEWMAR Delta 40kg, galvanized, incl. 80m 12mm galvanized chain and LOFRANS X4 electric windlass installed in anchor locker. Electric windlass is controlled by remote control on foredeck.
2x electrical HARKEN B80.2STEA primary winches for easy single-handed use next to steering position. Additional 2x manual HARKEN B80.2STA winches for gennaker, code 0 or mooring lines.
MAST & RIGGING
Carbon mast from AXXON, high modulus prepreg, autoclave cured, 3 spreaders swept back approx. 30°, modern fractional rig, tapered top, spray painted black, standing rod rigging, 2x down lights at the first spreader used also as deck light, track to hold jib halyard. Mast jack with hydraulic hand pump and wedges. RECKMANN electric jib furler. Main halyard 2:1 purchase, jib halyard 1:1, boom topping lift as spare main halyard, self-tacking jib sheet 2:1 purchase, 2x lazyjacks 4 in 1, 2x flag lines to first spreader.
Carbon monocoque boom from AXXON, high modulus prepregs in female mould, autoclave cured, spray painted in black, 2x single line reefing, outhaul track and car with line, hydraulic boom vang RECKMANN manually operated from aft cockpit side.
Joinery built partly from extra lightweight panels. All surfaces are either painted or covered with veneer, according to YYachts mood board. Ceilings made of lightweight panels covered with fabrics or painted.
Floor according to Y Yachts mood board. The floor support grid consists of sound isolated material (plywood / rubber / cork) which is attached to the structure by laminate and/or epoxy glued.
Salon upholstery material by KVADRAT according to individual choice. Mattresses on all beds are high quality "Softec visco" type offering optimal underside ventilation. All interior accessories (fabric, lamps, taps, switches, tables, handrails...) according to Y Yachts mood board.
Owner's cabin features a queen size double island bed and full height hanging wardrobe, drawers and lockers, 230V sockets, indirect lighting, direct lighting, reading lights and night courtesy lights. En-suite bathroom is at the forward end of the cabin with PLANUS KONOS electrical toilet, separate shower stall, mirror, washbasin mounted on satin white CORIAN countertop.
GUEST CABIN - AFT PORT
Guest cabin on port features twin beds with hanging wardrobe, drawers and lockers incl. 230V sockets, indirect lighting, direct lighting, reading lights and night courtesy lights. En-suite bathroom is at the forward end of the cabin with PLANUS NEW ARCTIC electrical toilet, separate shower stall, mirror, washbasin mounted on satin white CORIAN countertop. Access to crew quarters via a door at the aft end of the cabin.

Salon features a minimalistic open space arrangement yet with emphasis on different working areas. L-shaped lounge sofa on port. Dining table incl. 3x upholstered chairs and large linear dining bench on starboard. Lots of storage space under the sofa and dining bench. 230V sockets, indirect lighting, direct lighting, reading lights and night courtesy lights.
Galley features a very safe U-shape and it is located on the starboard side forward. Single piece CORIAN countertop in satin white with integrated stainless-steel double sink, faucet and niche with gimballed gas cooker with oven. Stainless-steel refrigerator with 2 drawers. Lockers, drawers, waste bin are provided. Indirect lighting, direct lighting and night courtesy light, 230V sockets.
Office area is located on portside opposite galley forward and it features a wooden desk facing aft and loose chair with generous storage space for books, documents and stationery. Reading light, indirect lighting, direct lighting and night courtesy lights, 230V sockets + 12V USB charging sockets.
Chart table is located on the starboard side aft facing outboard. Chart table offers a generous working area with ergonomically positioned instruments and gauges and space for documents. Chart table chair as per mood board. Red and white reading light, direct lighting and night courtesy light at stairway, 2x 230V sockets, 2x USB sockets.
Located on port aft and features 2 single bunks, lockers and drawers, en-suite bathroom with sink, mirror, PLANUS NEW ARCTIC electric toilet and shower. Direct lighting, reading lights and courtesy light and 2x 230V sockets . Access using ladder via cockpit hatch or via guest's aft port cabin.
PROPULSION & STEERING
Twin NANNI diesel engines N4.80SD 52.9kW/72hp. Each engine has a 12V 120A alternator to charge its individual starter battery. One engine has an additional 24V 75A alternator to charge the service batteries. Transmission via 2 saildrives for low maintenance and vibration reduction. Two 3-blade folding propellers. 2x fuel filter with water separator. Independent fuel supply lines for each engine. Electric twin-lever engine controls for throttle and gear, engine panels, all installed at starboard steering console. The twin engine combination allows easy docking without stern thruster and offers a safe redundant system.
Bow thruster MAX POWER VIP250 electric, approx. 9.5kW of thrust, retractable.
Double rudder system features 2 semi-balanced rudders made of glass composite, aluminium stock, self-aligning roller bearings. Bearings and housing are in fully laminated fittings to achieve maximum connection to the hull.
2x steering pedestals with instrument consoles incl. magnetic compass, 2x white painted composite steering wheels, cross spoke design, diameter 1,100 mm. Transmission via chain, wires, traveller and drag-link tubes. Emergency tiller, aluminium.
CHARGER AND INVERTER
Two independent shore power connections, shore one: 230V/32A/50Hz shore power for charging the service batteries and powering all 230V consumers / sockets. Uninterrupted power supply through inverter with 6.5kW, charging service batteries with 150A at 24V. Shore two: 230V/16A/45-65Hz shore power for charging the service batteries with 100A at 24V.
Switch panel 24V at chart table with toggle switches, circuit breakers, bus system for control functions, tank levels and voltage gauge. DC consumers: LED navigation lights, LED anchor light, LED deck light, anchor winch, winches, bilge pumps, water pressure pumps, air vents, toilets, refrigerator, interior lighting, direct and indirect plus reading light. Night lights (red) inside and outside, various USB 3.2A 5V charging point at chart table and all cabins.
24V service battery bank AGM 8x 12V/200Ah for 800Ah at 24V. Dedicated battery bank for headsail furler and bow thruster hi-load batteries 150Ah at 24V with separate DC/DC charger. Individual engine starter batteries for each engine, 2x 12V 95Ah. Individual engine starter battery for generator 1x 12V/95Ah. Separate battery charger for engine starter batteries.
Water heater, 230V AC outlets throughout the yacht, power supply via inverter, automatic switch-over from generator / shore power.
FISCHER PANDA 8000i PMS diesel generator, 230V/50Hz, 6,4kW/8,000kVA installed in engine compartment.
The yacht features a FORCE 10 gas 4 burner cooker with oven. Gas supply by a remote-controlled magnetic valve. Gas bottle with 5kg capacity stored in a dedicated space in the lazarette. Gas Alarm sensor
4x PLANUS electric toilet 24V with freshwater flush system. Through-hull fittings and seacocks made of non-corrosive fibre-reinforced high-grade marine polyamide. Blackwater hoses are made out of special odour free grade PVC. 3x blackwater tank with capacity approx. 60l each. Discharge possible via own sea cock or deck suction line. 3x greywater transfer boxes.
Water tank approx. 800l polyethylene, filler on deck. Dual-pressure water pump. Semi-rigid pipes with swaged terminals. Water heater, 75l capacity, heated by engine and/or 230V immersion heater. Faucets hot/cold in galley and each head/shower. 1x hot/cold shower on bathing platform.
5x electric bilge pump 24V WHALE Orca 80l/min with automatic float switches in: sail locker, forward cabin, saloon, engine room and lazarette and 1x emergency hand operated pump WHALE Gusher Urchin in cockpit.
Fuel tank with a total capacity of approx. 800l , filler on deck. Tank welded in high grade marine polyethylene.
