The Hardy 32DS twin cabin layout offers comfortable sleeping accommodation for up to 6 in two cabins plus the saloon, with generous headroom available in most areas.
OWNER'S FORECABIN: Fitted with a large V berth with infill to form a double, eye-level lockers, beneath berth stowage, hanging lockers, mirror, downlighters, reading lights, opening hatch to foredeck and two opening portlights (all with Oceanair blinds).
SIDE CABIN: This is a very versatile space, designed to offer additional accommodation when required, whilst providing essential additional storage, and a quiet, private area away from the saloon and forecabin, ideal for reading and relaxing. It is fitted with two single bunk berths, the lower has a lee cloth for serious passage making whilst the upper cleverly hinges down to form a comfortable settee, together with a large hanging locker, two opening portlights, reading light, downlighters, and adequate changing space.
HEADS: Separate compartment to port with quiet flush electric marine toilet with switchable freshwater flush, Y-valve to a large 218L capacity holding tank with macerator and deck and overboard discharge for extended cruising, separate shower area with screen, washbasin, storage areas, extractor fan, and two opening portlights.
SALOON: Featuring an L-shaped seating area to starboard which has a slide-out double berth conversion, storage lockers beneath and a dining table with folding leaves. This is also cleverly designed to incorporate a cantilevered navigator's seat, with instrumentation and area for chart work. Forward to port is the ergonomically designed helm position, offering excellent all-round vision and comprehensive instrumentation. Ample storage is provided in various lockers and drawers, whilst superb natural light and ventilation is provided by the all-round windows with sliding sections, large sunroof and bi-fold aft doors, allowing the saloon to become part of the cockpit. Entertainment is provided by a fold-down TV and built-in Pioneer stereo system.
GALLEY: Linear galley to port equipped with a Wallas 86DU two-burner diesel hob, Wallas 86D oven (requires servicing), front-loading fridge with freezer section (beneath helm seat), sink and easily accessed storage.
GENERAL EQUIPMENT: American white oak cabinetry with teak and holly soleboards, and Oceanair blinds throughout. Cream leatherette saloon upholstery with cotton upholstery in sleeping cabins. Corian surfaces in heads and at galley work top. Eberspacher diesel fired heating system, including windscreen demisters. Hot and cold pressurised water system throughout via a calorifier with immersion coil. Four fixed ventilators (2 x dorade, 2 x flat) provide additional ventilation.
EXTERIOR: The aft cockpit flows into the saloon via the bi-fold saloon doors, featuring an asymmetric design to combine a comfortable L-shape seating area with excellent deck access. Either the main saloon table or a smaller removable teak cockpit table can be used, making alfresco dining a pleasure, and plenty of storage is on offer in the large lazarette. Moving aft, the step-through transom to the folding teak and stainless steel bathing platform allows for confident berthing and safe, easy access to a dinghy, launch or pontoon. Strong, oversized pulpit rails, lots of grabrails and high bulwarks allow for safe deck work in bad weather, further design touches to prove the Hardy 32DS has serious cruising capabilities!
Located under wheelhouse sole are twin Yanmar 4BY3-180 4-cylinder 180hp turbo diesel engines fitted with Yanmar KMH41A 2.62:1 hydraulic actuatated multi-friction disc clutch gearboxes. Freshwater cooled via heat exchangers. Seastar i6300 dual electronic engine controls with electric start. Yanmar 5601E engine information displays and Wema fuel and water gauges. Two stainless steel tanks provide a large 870L fuel capacity, allowing for a range of around 250nm at a 15kt cruising speed consuming approx. 50 litres per hour. Upgraded Separ glass bowl fuel pre-filters. Stainless steel 1.5" diameter shafts fitted with Ambassador rope cutters and traditional, simple to maintain stern glands, drive twin handed 21" 4-bladed bronze propellers made by Clements Engineering. Vetus 50kgf bow thruster. Eltrim remote control trim tabs with trim display.
The engines have been meticulously maintained, have run for 440hrs since new equating to an optimum usage of approx. 90hrs a season, and were last serviced in July 2020 including replacement engine anodes. A comprehensive maintenance log is available on request, and all other anodes were changed in June 2020 when she was last ashore.

THE HARDY 32DS - A FAST, ALL WEATHER, ALL PURPOSE BOAT
A combination of speed and the sea-keeping characteristics needed for fast offshore cruising, as well as the ability to explore inland waterways, are on offer in the Hardy 32DS. The Andrew Wolstenholme-designed hull can plane when required, but also has the ability to semi-displace in bad weather, or cruise at lower speeds for river work. In addition, her keel gives directional stability and helps protect the stern gear, while her relatively low profile helps manoeuvring in windy conditions.
Originally introduced as the Commander 32, this model has been completely updated. The 32DS is offered with three optional interior layouts and can be configured to sleep up to six. Her deck saloon, with overhead sliding sun-roof opening through to the spacious cockpit, makes a large light living area.
Side and foredecks have high bulwarks, with further protection from stainless steel guardrails, ensuring that movement around the decks is safe and secure. The cockpit may be totally enclosed, and below the floor there is plenty of storage – perfect for cruising gear.
