‘Algonquin’ is arguably the finest Nordhavn 43 built and currently on the market. She shows much like a brand new boat and still has that new boat smell!
She is loaded with all the right equipment, has remarkably low hours but has been maintained to the highest standards. She was commissioned at Emerald Harbour Marine in Seattle in 2009 and has had very light use since.
Canadian buyers can take advantage of the fact that ‘Algonquin’ is Canadian duty paid for a substantial savings of 9.5%. US buyers please note that import duty may be payable.
For serious buyers I can accommodate showings following Covid 19 guidelines.

Stepping aboard from either port or starboard side gates or the third gate from the extended swim step (with three stainless steel removable staples) you enter the large cockpit. Here a 3rd control station allows effortless docking. The asymmetrical design of the Nordhavn 43 creates a larger salon and features a walkway down the starboard side deck providing access directly to the pilothouse and bow.
Dropping down into the lazarette the equipment is well laid out and there is ample room for stowing gear.
Entering the cabin through a wide Dutch door brings you into a very comfortable salon. Six large windows (three opening with screens) allow ample air and light plus two opening portlights as well. The furniture consists of a custom L-settee to port with a table and settee to starboard. The settees have tan ultra-leather upholstery and there is plenty of storage under and behind the cushions. There are floor hatches to access the engine room from the salon as well as through the owner’s stateroom.
The well laid out and well equipped U shaped gourmet galley is located to port and has everything the chef requires.
Forward to starboard and up four steps you arrive in the large pilothouse which is properly laid out and feels truly ship like. There is a single Stidd "Admiral" helm chair centered behind an impressive array of instruments and controls for the captain with a raised settee with tan ultra-leather and a teak table behind for guests. Aft of the settee is a pull out watch berth. 'Algonquin' is equipped with a comprehensive suite of electronics that were professionally installed at Emerald Harbour Marine.
Electronics and Equipment:
Exiting through either of the Dutch doors, the starboard side gives access to the Portuguese bridge, bow and starboard walkway with the port side giving access to the Portuguese bridge, boat deck and flybridge. Going up four steps aft you arrive at the boat deck with the dinghy, davit crane and kayak racks. Another three stairs up brings you to the flybridge offering a large forward facing seat with commanding views that make for easy piloting and a custom stainless steel framed top that offers protection from the sun and elements.
Boat Deck Features:
Forward and down from the pilothouse, the spiral staircase has one opening portlight and leads to the accommodation spaces. The full beam master stateroom is located amidship under the pilothouse with a walk around queen berth, lots of drawers and lockers and an en-suite head with shower. There are two opening portlights above the bed for ventilation.
The guest stateroom is located forward offering a double berth with custom mattress to port and a desk to starboard. The guest en-suite head and separate shower are towards the bow. There two large opening deck hatches overhead for light and ventilation.
Heading aft through the master stateroom a full size engine room access door with teak overlay takes you into the well laid out and spotless engine room.

Manufacturers Provided Description: In 1999, P.A.E.'s naval architect, Jeff Leishman, again made the boating world take notice with the successful launch of the innovative Nordhavn 40, a small, mighty ship that soon proved its remarkable capabilities. In 2002, a stock Nordhavn 40 completed a 26,000-mile circumnavigation in less than 25 weeks without incident or breakdown. Crewed by our P.A.E. staff, this proud little vessel served as the testing ground for a variety of evolutionary ideas. The Nordhavn 43 is the direct result of lessons learned on that challenging and very satisfying adventure. It also represents the culmination of what 25 years of quality boat building has taught us. Unlike other boat builders, we did not set out to design a 43-foot model to fit a marketing strategy. Instead we challenged ourselves to make a great boat, the Nordhavn 40, even better. Likewise, we knew that our Nordhavn 47 was already on its way to becoming one of our all time best sellers. But it was simply more boat than many people wanted or could afford. A careful comparison of both the 40 and 47 formed the design parameters for a new model. It just happened to result in a 43-foot long boat.
