Destiny is a very lightly used boat that when bought by the current owner had a mere 350 hours on the main engine. Being an experience yachtsman and engineer, the purchaser realised that such low hours are not always advantageous since boats tend to work better when regularly used. Following purchase, he embarked on a major overhaul of all the boats’ systems. The diesel engines were serviced and where potential problems were identified, pre-emptive action was taken to prevent future failure/breakdown. A list of the maintenance work and upgrades carried out can be seen below.
With the boat now meeting the owner’s high standards he embarked on an extended cruise from south east England to Scotland visiting the Orkney Islands, the west coast and the Hebrides before returned via the Caledonian Canal. This was followed later in the year by a cruise to the Netherlands and an adventure through the canals. Combined with numerous local trips Destiny sailed over 300 hours in one year and confirmed to the owner’s satisfaction that the boat was now in first class condition.
If you are looking for a low hours and lightly used boat in excellent condition with all the wrinkles ironed out and upgraded with the latest nav equipment, then this is the boat for you.
Reason for Sale
The safety, seakeeping ability, reliability and frugal fuel use convinced the owner’s wife that living long-term on a boat was a viable option and so they are now looking for a larger boat in which to travel extensively.
The owner would willing spend time explaining all the systems to the buyer and will consider delivering the vessel in Europe, should it be required.
Bates Wharf sold this boat to the current owners in September 2018. Since that time they have updated the boat and travelled extensively.
