RAINBOW is a pristine example of this popular daysailor designed by Nat Herreschoff. She was built by well known builder David Corcoran of Bull House Boatworks to the highest Maine craftmanship. She has a Mastervolt Podmaster 2.0 electric pod drive. She is a pleasure to own and sail for anyone that appreciates her classic lines. There is a single axle trailer for Rainbow that was sturdy enough to bring her out from the east coast 18 months ago.
RAINBOW is located on Bainbridge Island. Please contact Bob Schoonmaker at 206-818-7394 or email@example.com to arrange a showing.
All boats sold through Swiftsure Yachts are sold through our Seattle office and appropriate taxes and fees apply.
The design of Rainbow came from the office of Nathanael Herreshoff who lived from 1848-1938. The Watch Hill 15 design comes from the tradition of naming the design after the length of the waterline. Several boatyards have built then including David Corcoran at Bull House Boat Works in Arundel Maine.
Rainbow is hand built cedar carvel planking over white oak frames. She has an external lead ballast keel with a centerboard in a trunk cabin midships. Her rudder is skeg hung. The transom is teak. Her decks are plywood and epoxy coated glass with non-skid paint applied.
The Mastervolt Podmaster 2.0 electric drive runs from (2) Mastervolt batteries fastened under the seating. She has plenty of power to get her out of her slip. The owners reports a few hours of run time at half throttle.
Rainbow was shipped to the PNW late in 2018. She went to the Port Townsend Shiprights Co-op for extensive cosmetic and canvas work. She is in wonderful condition and ready to make any sailor proud to own her.
Her main and jib are in excellent condition. Her canvas is new. She's got a depth sounder, Rule electric bilge pump and hand pump as well.
