The Mediterranean 54 is a high-performance, semi-custom, modified deep-V convertible sportfishing and cruising yacht. Her hull design provides a smooth ride and achieves better performance with less fuel consumption making her very economical. A cut-away forefoot with relatively wide chines forward helps deflect spray while the width of the downward angle chines, broadening to large running surfaces aft, helps to quickly lift the boat to a plane and steady the hull in a beam sea. The upsweep aft of the hull's fairbody keel line reduces resistance and provides a low running angle of attack for maximum performance. The interior layouts and details provide a luxurious, comfortable refuge after a long day of fighting fish.
The 54 Mediterranean is a Southern California built yacht for the west coast offshore fisherman or cruising boater who has owned the east coast designed boats and wanted a yacht that is designed 22 of the 54to west coast specs. 22 54' Mediterraneans were built over a 10 year span. The offshore use include stand up engine room and wide deck walkway to bow. Large cockpit with high sides for comfort and safety . Large bridges with hardtops. Stand up roomy lazeret . Big deep fish holds with refrigeration and ice chipper. I have sold 10 54 Mediterranean yachts in ten years and only resold 1 due to old age of seller. Boaters that buy 54 Mediterranean keep them for a average of 8 to 10 years. Excellent scuba or free dive yacht. Like most high end California built boats the builders took 5 of the best features out of 5 of the finest east coast boats and added west coast features to produce the finest boats in the world. I fish on 54 Mediterraneans. The average cost for a Simi custom 54' Mediterranean was 1mil to 1.3mil walk on board this boat and it speaks for its self. Captain Dave
BROKER CAPTAIN DAVE COMMENT.
I discover the 54 Mediterranean 15 years ago when I sold a clients 48 Uniflite and he had bought a 54 Mediterranean. Having fished on a 48 Uniflite and sold all sizes of uniflites I would always recommend them to my buyers. The seller invited me out to fish his 54 Mediterranean and I was very happy to see how great of boat she was. I compared her to higher end sport fishers Viking, Hatteras, Bertram, Mickelson, Rivera and others. While they were fair boats they are no where the quality, performing, seaworthy, or design of the 54 Mediterranean sport fisher. The outstanding features in comparing her is her 68,000 pounds which equate to a very good riding offshore sea boat. Stand up walk in engine room and lazarett. huge high freeboard cockpit. Cockpit engine room access. Wide flat side walks to forward flat decks. Spacious bridges enclosed or tournament style. The interior space is very user friendly with galley up and aft midship for best ride. Extra large windows including front salon windows for maximum visibility at all times. Electrical panel is just inside salon doorway very accessible and wire to perfection and numbered. Going forward there are 3 staterooms and two heads. There are three different layouts all with owners stateroom and VIP staterooms.
I have spent probably 75 days aboard the 54 Mediterraneans and have yet to find a design or building flaw. Unlike the other builders mentioned above which all have design and builders flaws. Mediterraneans were all built in Southern California for west coast use. They costs as much as the above builders boats at $750,000.00 base price. Most all were north of 1mil. If you are looking for a 50 to 60 foot boat either for fishing, diving, cruising contact me or my son Brian to board a 54 Mediterranean. You will be glad you did. Captain Dave and Brian Willhite
