This Sydney 41(designed by Ian Murray) has cruising comforts wrapped in a high performance package. Twister should be compared to the performance of the Farr 40, the J 122 and the J 125, especially considering the overall first place finishes around the world. A Sydney 41 scored first Sydney to Hobart Rae, first in the Fastnet Race and first in several long distance races around the world.Additionally, the 41 always scored well in our local Southern and Northern California races.
Twister is not an over sized sport boat. She has a surprisingly comfortable interior featuring 2 cabins, a respectable galley with a 2 burner stove/oven, a spacious salon, and an enclosed head. The navigation station is large enough to display large charts, is well positioned, and provides for drawer storage.
This rig is a mast head with carbon fiber spar and large mainsail. The smaller jibs to make sailing much easier in both racing and cruising mode.
Twister sports a redesigned keel with bulb designed by Nelson Marek which has improved her stellar upwind, reaching, and downwind performance. Engineering drawings for this keel modification are available in the pictures provided,
