This handsome 22-foot Down East dayboat has a solid reputation as an efficient, sea-kindly hull, one that is easily driven and one that will get you home when it breezes up. The Sisu 22 is a fiberglass descendent of the wooden lobster boats designed by Royal Lowell, one of the icons of traditional Maine-built boats.
The term “Sisu” is Finnish and refers to the idea of toughness and stoicism, which is certainly embodied in the boat.
She has been completely rebuilt with new systems and equipment, including a new 150-hp Yamaha outboard (low hours), center console, leaning post, Alwgripped hull, wiring, electronics, steering, mahogany coaming, gear locker, canvas and so on.

Restoration of boat...comments from Seller...
We completely stripped the boat after buying it. Removed the deck patches and disposed of the console and fuel tank. Filled hull forward of tank with flotation. Painted the hull with Awlgrip. Installed new Yamaha 150 4-stroke outboard. Had a new console built in Maine, Awlgripped it and mounted it on a custom teak riser that we built to obtain the proper console height. The deck is self-bailing. Had plexiglass windscreen cut and bent for console. Installed wheel, battery system and switch, wired boat and installed Blue Seas distribution panel. Boatwright fabricated, fit, laminated and installed steam-bent mahogany coaming. Added non-skid to cockpit sole. Installed Birdsall Marine leaning post with footrest and rod holders - the industry standard. Added a custom deck box built for anchor, rode, lifejackets etc. Installed dive ladder off transom. There is a Rule bilge pump and a Water Puppy bilge/sump pump to remove water from lowest area of bilge.
Goal was a simple, open layout to complement the efficient seaworthy Down East hull. Excellent for fishing, dayboating, going to sandbars, etc.
