"Kawanhee" is a well equipped and carefully maintained example of the classic Offshore Yachtfisher 48. Her tri-cabin layout with cockpit and flybridge provides a versatile layout whether on a trip up the Inside Passage or enjoying a weekend of salmon fishing. Her lines and hull form are efficient and her William Crealock design lends itself to a sea-kindly motion when at sea. Interior spaces are warm and full of light with comfortable accommodations for family and friends. She is well equipped and has a new icemaker, mattresses, water maker, deck furniture and window covers.

In contrast to Kawanhee's almost wood-free, easy to maintain fiberglass exterior, her interior accommodations are open and inviting with a classic teak build out that is consistently detailed throughout the vessel. Teak bulkheads, trim and cabinetry, louvered locker doors, and style and rail partitioning doors are classic in their proportions. The layout is open with good visual connections between adjoining spaces. Windows are huge and the view to the seascape beyond is stunning from both the main salon and the owner's cabin. Storage is abundant, ventilation from opening hatches and ports excellent and lighting appropriately designed for task as well as ambient requirements. Curtains and wood blinds cover all windows and the cabin sole is carpeted throughout.
The guest cabin is forward in the boat. The large V-berth includes an infill and shelves run the length of the berth to port and starboard. Below the berth are two drawers and two lockers. A dressing table with two drawers below and mirror faced locker above is aft and to port of the berth with a large hanging locker aft and to starboard. Ventilation is provided by two opening hatches and four opening ports. The space is illuminated by four overhead lights and reading lights at the head of the berth.
The forward head is aft and to starboard of the guest stateroom and can be accessed from both the stateroom and the galley/salon. There is a separate shower enclosure with shower seat, cubby for shampoo and soap and wand shower head with hot and cold pressure water. The shower door is opaque Plexiglas. The Vacuflush head is forward and outboard the shower stall and the sink is molded into the countertop. A large mirror is on the forward bulkhead and storage is available below the sink and outboard the vanity. There are three overhead lights and ventilation from two opening ports and an opening hatch.
Opposite the head is the large U-shaped galley. The Tundra refrigerator/freezer is on the forward bulkhead adjacent to the new three burner Force Ten propane stove. A large pantry is above the refrigerator and a smaller cabinet for spices is above the stove. Pots and pan storage is below the stove. The other two sides of the galley are counter space joined in the center by a deep double SS sink. Cabinets run above the outboard counter with a small locker in the countertop. The forward facing counter has two additional drawers and a large locker below. The galley space is divided from the main salon by a large serving counter with sliding door storage for plates and glassware below. The dividing counter is at a height that allows the cook to see into the main salon and be part of the activity while preparing the daily meals. Two opening ports and an opening hatch provide good ventilation.
Up three steps from the galley is the main salon. The inside helm folding foot rest, wood wheel with SS spokes and instrument console is to starboard. Radios, clock and barometer, and autopilot are located above the console at a ceiling level dash. An L-shaped settee with three drawers below is to port. The settee is adjacent to the salon table which can be adjusted from coffee table to dining height. There are table inserts that can be added enabling the table to easily seat eight for a meal. Access to the sundeck is from a nicely constructed, curved staircase.
Down three steps from the main salon is the spacious owner's cabin with centerline queen bed. Full of light with access to the aft deck and a nice view to the outside, the owner's cabin is a wonderful space with plenty of storage for clothing and gear. A built-in dresser is along the port side with eight drawers below and a shelved, roll top enclosure above and outboard. A large hanging locker is forward with a vanity with two drawers and locker below and inboard. A large mirror is above the vanity. The master ensuite head with separate shower is to starboard. The shower has an opaque Plexiglas shower door, shower seat, cubby for shower supplies and hot and cold pressure water shower wand. The Vacuflush head is on the aft bulkhead and a vanity with molded sink is outboard. Storage is available under the vanity, in sliding door shelves above the vanity and in two lockers inboard of the shower.
The engine room is accessed by lifting the stairs at the forward and aft ends of the main salon. There is excellent access to systems and all sides of the main engines.
