The Doughdish is a fiberglass reproduction of the original Herreshoff 12 1/2 footer. It is constructed in foam sandwich fiberglass with teak trim. It is built to the exact hull dimensions and rig of the sloops designed by N. G. Herreshoff in 1914. As a result they are able to compete against the wooden boats in class races and regattas.
It is a comfortable and easy daysailer, and a wonderful boat for teaching someone to sail.
Doughdish No. 290, TRANQUILITY was built by Edey and Duff of Mattapoisett, MA in 1991. She is in solid condition, but would benefit from cosmetic attention. Suggested projects would include to strip and re-finish brightwork. The topsides and bottom are in fair to good condition, and would need only regular maintenance. She has been sailed in fresh water.
The sale includes: Two sets of sails - main and jib - in serviceable condition; cockpit cover and jib cover; motor mount (but no motor) and older Triad trailer in good working condition.
Doughdish 290 can be view by appointment only. Contact us for more information.
