These are a non-skid surface, rather than the common teak application. NO leaks. The interior is exceptional with the teak finishes of not standard veneer panels, but solid teak . The sole throughout is teak & holly rather than the common teak parquet. Very spacious and thoughtful layout. Queen on centerline aft, with ensuite head & tub. Good guest accomodations forward, with head & shower. Re-powered with new Cummins 5.9 diesel 300 hp Diamond series under warranty. 2000 hours since installation in 1997. The OCEAN COMMANDER 42 Tri-Cabin Motoryacht was designed by Todd Harris and built by Taiwan Industrial in Kaohsiung Taiwan. Imported by Bellhaven Marine these were a reflection of the discriminating evolution of pacific northwest boaters. The hand laid one piece hull, will start planning @ 12.1 Knots. The factory brochure lists speeds of: 15.9 cruise & 18.9 top speed. The owner has a "Economy Cruise Speed" of 8 knots @ 1300 RPM with 2.5 gallons per hour for both engines. He has had the boat up to 20 knots! WOW!
The cored sandwich and non skid decks, are lower maintenance and leak resistant by comparison to teak. Painted aluminum frame windows also are less exterior teak to maintain. The well laid out interior provides a full width master stateroom with centerline Queen bed, ensuite head with shower & tub, ample hanging locker & drawer storage with vanity. The well lit galley down is "U" shaped with Propane range/ oven and full size Norcold refer/ freezer. Solid teak drawer fronts, face frames and tongue and grove vertical bulkhead facings are elegant and durable. The sole is teak & holly throughout.
Originally powered with Cummins diesel, their was a factory recall on the motors that resulted with Cummins replacing both motors with an upgraded power option of the Diamond Series in 1997. These motors have approximately 2000 hours and will provide safe reliable cruising for years to come. The Mather's Micro Commander electric throttle and gear controls on both the main and fly bridge station are a real plus over the typical push pull cable type.
The Forced Air diesel heater is a Batvarmare 091-DM with ducts in all living areas. There is one *D Marine starting Battery, and 4-6Volt deep cycle house batteries. True Charge battery charger. The tender is a 10' Achilles inflatable with 9.9 / 4 stroke outboard. All 2013 vintage. The electric windlass has ground tackle of a 35lb. anchor, and 300' of chain.
