This beautiful Slocum 43 is cruise equipped for liveaboard comfort and long range voyaging! The Stan Huntingford designed Slocum 43 is known for her unusual blend of tradition and performance. This yacht combines classic offshore design with a deeply cutaway full keel, modern hull sections and a deep skeg hung rudder for a comfortable yet responsive boat. Above decks she features Kiwi Grip side decks, stainless steel dorades, a canoe stern and a tumble home design that evokes the classic age of sail. The Slocum 43 is Cutter rigged with a Pro-Furl Jib and a hanked on staysail for the ideal combination of ease of use and time tested reliability. Her roomy interior of Burmese Teak and Holly has 6'4 of headroom and lots of light and ventilation from the many opening ports and hatches. The Slocum 43 performs well on the water but takes care of her crew at the same time. Her Sail Plan and modern underbody, combined with design features that give her an impressive comfort ratio of 37.73 mean that she will make good time on a passage and keep you comfortable while doing so. Her factory custom touch is a straight settee and rectangular dining table and seating, vs the standard curved settee and round table. That touch allows roomier seating and storage. The special order Dickinson Antarctic furnace sits on a 2 drawer stack vs the standard 5 drawer stack. With two separate cabins featuring full size berths, a generous sized pilot berth, plus luxuries like air conditioning and a sit down bathtub, this boat is perfect to cruise the bay or head to Tahiti with comfort, safety and style. This vessel was hauled out and bottom painted Nov 2019.
