The Raymond Hunt design ODay 28, features solid-fiberglass construction in the hull and balsa wood cored fiberglass cabin top and deck areas. The diesel engine is strong and reliable. She has wheel steering and roller furling on the headsail. All lines are lead aft to the cockpit. which is great for solo sailing. She sleeps Six.
The spacious interior in the O'Day 28 is well laid out for cruising. Forward is a private cabin V-Berth that sleeps 2, privacy door, and an overhead deck hatch. Just aft is the head, manual marine toilet with holding tank, sink/vanity, opening port and privacy doors, The main cabin is trimmed in teak and offers a full-length settee to port that pulls out to make into a double berth. A full-length settee is to starboard, a folding double-leaf table, a navigation/chart table, 12 volt lighting and abundant storage behind and above the settees. The L-shaped galley features a small microwave oven, top-loading ice box, stainless sink with hot & cold pressurized water system. There is ample counter and storage space. Aft to starboard is a wide quarter berth for additional accommodations and/or storage. The Cockpit is roomy and features large sail lockers to store sailing gear.

The decks and cabin top have areas of water saturated core and some delamination. These areas are located port side amidship deck at the genoa track, for several square feet, starboard deck at the chain plates and cabin top around the mast area for several square feet.
This boat has been sailed this way for many years, with this core problem. This core problem does not happen overnight.
