Accommodation is theoretically for 8, though this would be pushing it!
The double berth in the forecabin js fitted with a bespoke mattress, about 6” thick with memory foam top.
Extensive lockers under the berth, including lockers accessible without lifting the mattress and a separate hanging locker.
In the original layout this was an “owner’s suite”, with separate access to the heads, and private from the rest of the boat. The owners found the extra door to close the access from the saloon to be a nuisance, and the fitting of the new mattress to the bunk prevented the possibility of opening the door to the heads. However the extra door and the original mattress cushions are available to enable this configuration to be restored.
The saloon dinette makes a double berth, or as a single, an excellent sea-berth with a substantial lee cloth.
There is another single with lee-cloth opposite on the port side, where a trotter-box under the chart table makes it full length for sleeping.
Originally there was a pilot berth outboard of the dinette to starboard. The owners have used this for storage of cockpit cushions and other items, the mattress is available to restore the berth if required.
There is substansial lockers and stowage in the saloon.
Two flexible water tanks under the saloon berths hold approximately 300 L of fresh water.
The aft cabin has a generous single or a “honeymoon double”, and a wash basin and substantial storage with a hanging locker.
All upholstery except the original fo’csl and pilot berth cushions were re-covered in 2015 with washable fabric.
the U-shaped galley has 2 sinks with hot and cold running water.
There is a calorifier to heat water while running the engine, and with an immersion heater for when plugged into shore power.
Cold water from the galley mixer tap is filtered through a carbon filter to remove any taste or odour from the tanks.
The gimballed ENO cooker has 3 burners and an oven. There is a separate gas grill.
There is a large top-opening fridge. The refrigerator compressor and evaporator plate were replaced in 2007.
Plenty of stowage in the galley.
The toilet was replaced in 2011, and a holding tank was fitted.
The wash basin has hot and cold running water.
There is a shower tray, draining to the bilge, and a solar heated shower hanging from the mast through the skylight. A mixer tap with a shower attachment could be fitted.
The chart table will take an Admiralty chart folded in half. The navigator’s seat has stowage under . There is plenty of stowage for charts inside the chart table.
The self-draining cockpit is deep and safe with 2 solid safety-harness attachment rings. Coamings are deep and comfortable.
There is a zip-in panel with a window to fill the gap between spray -hood and bimini, as well as zip-in sides to give a good deal of shelter from rain when in harbour,
There is one enormous cockpit locker to starboard capable of holding 2 folding bikes, one inflatable dinghy, the outboard motor and all the fenders, and still has more space.
Access to the rear of the engine is through a removable panel in this locker.
Smaller locker for warps, spare diesel cans etc and the emergency tiller.
Under the helmsman’s seat is a locker originally designed for the liferaft. This now contains the fuel tank, with room on top of it for plenty of warps, or perhaps the spinnaker.
To port is the draining gas locker which holds 2 Camping Gaz 907 cylinders plus petrol can for the outboard with more space for other small items
Instruments are in a housing over the companionway hatch.
Solar Panels hang on the guardrails and offer some protection. They can be angled upwards when necessary to collect maximum sunshine..
Fold-down swimming/boarding ladder, which forms part of the pushpit when sailing
Removable cockpit table, large enough for al-fresco dining for 2 or 3 people.
Stanchions are bolted through the aluminium toe-rail.
The anchor windlass is a 1000w Lofrans with 60 metres of 8mm chain, the first 30 metres being new in 2019, and a Delta anchor.
Additionally there is an aluminium Kedge Fortress anchor on 10m of 10mm chain plus a long nylon warp.
The Delta anchor can stow in the bow-roller, and all chain and the fortress plus its chain and warp life in a draining locker in the bow

My wife and I have owned Penny Lane since 2005, during which time we have made many improvements to ready her for extended cruising. These include electric anchor windlass and 60m of 8mm chain, self-tailing primary sheet winches, extra batteries, including dedicated batteries for both engine start and windlass, solar panels, bimini, hot and cold water, custom-made proper mattress for double berth, smart charger and 230v ac circuit for when on shore power, Galvanic isolator, Alternator management system, all electronics replaced, holding tank. This is in addition to routine maintenance (she has been hauled out ashore every winter), and includes replacement standing rigging (2018), new heads (2012), replacement of sail drive diaphragm (last done 2018), regular engine servicing, regular servicing of sails, new liferaft 2013, serviced according to manufacturer’s specification and last serviced August 2019.
During our ownership, Penny Lane has cruised extensively in the English Channel and South Brittany, and we have cruised across Biscay to the Spanish Rias, The Algarve, through the Straits of Gibraltar to the Balearics, and back over a period of 7 years
