Southport CT is home port for Coqueze, a 36 ft wood Crocker auxiliary centerboard ketch built of tropical hardwoods in Belize in 1978.
Stepping aboard Coquese is like stepping into a Winslow Homer Painting, for me. Here is an authentic Crocker ketch, classic cockpit, classic ¾ rig, jib boom headsail, two-part halyards, a handy sailor for the discerning yachtsman who appreciates the dignity of the early 1900’s sailing yachts. Below is a traditional open layout, berths forward and main berths astride the centerboard trunk and a drop leaf table. Head aft to port and galley with a solid fuel fisherman stove aft to starboard. Interior cabinetry is solidly built of native hardwoods, traditional ceiling, open bilge, she is as classic as you can imagine.
Beautifully maintained by a loving skipper, she is sound and fit for an immediate visit to the next wooden boat show or antique tradition yacht regatta.
