This Kona Cutter "Elation" was Designed and Fitted out as a World Cruising Sailboat, that could be Single Handed, or Easily Cruised by Two. Her Hull was Laid Down in Korea in 1978, and Arrived in Newport Beach in a Crate in 1980 with No Electrical, or Mechanical Whatsoever. After 4 Years of Hard Work, and Countless Expenses, she was Commission in 1984 with a Ceremony in Newport Beach. In 2005, "Elation" was Completely Stripped of her Interior and the Deck House, Replacing the Balsa Coring with Rigid Foam and Carbon Fiber at Stress Points. All Electrical, and Plumbing was Replaced to Lloyd's A-1 Standards. All Mechanicals were Replaced or Completely Rebuilt with the exception of the bow pulpit and the stern davits. Even the life line Stanchions were Replaced with Custom Bronze. Thirty-five years without one blister states the Proud Owner. Comfortable, Convenient, Safe, with World Cruising Capability. Starting forward is a chain locker followed by a double berth, hanging locker and sliding door locker. Next is the salon that features a convertible dinette on the port and a U-shaped galley to starboard and an enclosed head and shower to starboard. The companionway aft to the aft cabin with electronics and electric panel in the same area. Transverse double berth all of the way aft and ample storage in lockers, cabinets, and drawer. The area to port and forward of the master stateroom is available through a large access door. The inteiror woodwork is solid teak with white overhead paneling and combination of carpet. There is abundant light and ventilation below through a combination of bronze opening ports. The stateroom features transom windows and an overhead butterfly hatch. The workmanship throughout the boat is of the highest quality and deserves to be viewed in person.
