One of Taiwans' best yacht builder, Ta Chaio Brothers teamed up with Bill Garden... and a very popular 41' Ketch was produced; a boat that captured the imagination of many long distance sailors and many were produced. The boat became widely known as the CT 41'. This one is a marvelous example of why these boats were so popular. A good off-shore, seakindly, manageable boat that looks like what a long distance cruiser should look like... "shippy"! These CT boats are solid, long lasting, character boats that continue to serve the experienced sailor well. If Euro-styling isn't for you, come take a look. The CT 41 make perfect Live-Aboards at a fraction of the price of modern sailcraft. 'BENBECULA' is one of these fine vessels.
All standing and running rigging was replaced 3 years ago and the roller furl is new. Wood blocks under both masts were replaced with purple-hart wood blocks. The main mast also got a new foot due to soft spots in the original. Added a baby-forestay , from the bow to about 2/3 mast height. This allows for carrying a smaller jib as a staysail and allowed to replace the original heavy large jib (roller from the bowsprit) by a smaller lighter new sail. The boat sails noticeably better with this arrangement and sail handling became much lighter
The owner is moving back to Europe and does not have the time to transport it there otherwise he would not be selling.
This vessel is Listed with Steele-A-Weigh Yacht Sales Inc.
