NASKET was custom built by Brooklin Boat Yard in 1971 to a design by Sam Crocker that was “tweaked” by Joel White to result in a boat slightly enlarged from the original 1945 Crocker drawings. Her construction when built was first quality and her subsequent owners have maintained this level of quality in all the work they have done.
NASKET is a handsome ketch that has proven to be very easy to handle and has an excellent turn of speed. Her interior is spacious with a rather open traditional layout with Concordia style berths in the main saloon and Vee-berths forward. Comfortable below and pleasing to the eye above NASKET improves the view of any harbor she graces.
NASKET’s second owners put the boat through an extensive refit / rebuild mostly over the course of 2001 to 2002 and then afterwards continued to maintain NASKET in impeccable condition until 2016 when her new (current) owner took over her stewardship very much in keeping with the program of the previous owners with proper yearly maintenance, timely upgrade projects and thoughtful new equipment purchases.
NASKET is in extremely good condition and should be given serious consideration for anyone looking for a classic cruiser with good looks and great sailing characteristics. For those truly interested in NASKET there is (available upon request) a complete history of maintenance, upgrade projects and new equipment purchases. Additionally available (upon request) an August 2016 pre-purchase survey performed by Capt. Paul Haley of Capt. G. W. Full & Associates and oil analysis reports for Fall of 2018 and 2019
