The customized in 2016 Salon is entered off the cockpit by one step up through stainless steel framed sliding door. Comfortable custom seating, and entertainment system with large view windows and custom mill-work and lighting provide live-able and luxurious accommodations for the owner(s) and guests. The spacious forward of the salon and port side U-shaped galley has more amenities and storage than the average shore-side kitchen. Starting aft through the wide sliding glass door, is the spacious salon, with a curved settee next to the entertainment center, which is nestled in the starboard aft corner with lots of storage. Additional storage below the settee. Two custom made chairs in the salon face opposite to a custom made sectional sofa and granite-look table and counter-tops. Overhead lights on dimmer switches illuminate, blinds for windows and new wood plank flooring with area carpets contribute to a warm, comfortable living space. Moving forward is the galley to port and dinette to starboard. 3 steps up is the pilothouse, with helm in the center and a large L-shaped settee behind and to port with table. The view and visibility through the aircraft-style windshield is impressive, with wipers/washers on 3 of the 5 panes. The aircraft-style sliding door opens to the starboard side deck. 6 steps up takes you to the flying bridge with a curved plexiglass sliding door and screen. The expansive fly-bridge features 2 large and comfortable lounges with ample seating for 8-10 guests which can be configured to extend further aft. There are a pair of fully adjustable Captains chairs with foot bolsters at the helm. Full electronics are within easy reach and the visibility is excellent. A new Bimini was installed in the Spring of 2018. There are black canvas covers for the wet bar/ refrigerator cabinet, chairs, helm instrumentation and lounge seats. There is also a stand alone SS Napolean BBQ with cover, An HCR 1600 rated for 1500lbs capacity hydraulic davit lowers and raises the 2010 13' Walker Bay RIB with Honda 50hp 4 stroke. A hatch covers the opening to the cockpit ladder.
The engine room is accessed from the cockpit by lifting the molded in staircase and descending down stairs. The well-organized and lit engine room contains Twin Cummins QSM 11-M's 635hp diesel engines with 994 hrs on Port and 1004 Hrs on Starboard. The engines have electronic throttle/transmission controls for precise operation. A Reverso electric oil pump system makes short work of oil changes. Dual Racor fuel filters for each engine and raw-water strainers are easily accessible. Electric transfer pumps keep the fuel tanks evenly balanced, which are outboard of the engines. A Sea Fire automatic fire extinguisher is mounted on the forward bulkhead.
The generator is an Onan 17.5 KW unit with low hours, located in a sound enclosure beneath the cockpit sole.
The generator powers a five-zone, reverse cycle air conditioning system totaling 70,000 BTU's. There is a diesel-fired forced-air heating system, with outlets throughout the boat and in addition there is an automotive-style engine-driven heating system.
The AC electrical panel is located next to the pilothouse door and contains the generator controls and the Xantrex inverter/charger monitor. Opposite is the DC 24V/12V panel at the head of the stairs to the sleeping cabins, which includes a tank monitor for water & waste tanks.
In the engine room, all battery switches are located next to the engine room door. Adjacent is a Xantrex Prosine Sine Wave Inverter/Charger 3.0, a Sure Power Battery Equalizer and Professional Mariner Promatic 35-3 charger.
The interior is kept clean with a central vacuum system and there is a Bosch stacked washer and dryer in a closet located in the stateroom passageway.
The 580's hull is cored and through-bolted to the deck, bulkheads are glassed-in, and the stringers are encapsulated marine plywood topped with steel rails where the engine mounts are affixed. A stainless rub rail runs nearly the length of the hull. Wide side decks allows one to walk down both sides of the hull from bow to the cockpit. An aircraft-style side door on the starboard walkway opens into the pilothouse. Above the salon windows are non-functional air intakes that are bold and balance the design.
The fore-deck has a lounging area with sunpad and a pair of hatches open to the forward stateroom. The flying bridge is large, with a pair of chairs at the helm and 2 large lounges., which can be configured on the upper deck to extend further aft. Just outside it facing forward are a remote-control searchlight, loud hailer and dual air horns. There is also a hideaway sink with h&c water and a U-Line refrigerator/ freezer and stand alone Napolean barbecue.
The flying bridge has a full canvas Bimini top with zippered opening panels and canvas covers for the bar/refer cabinet, chairs, helm instruments and lounges. An HCR 1600 hydraulic davit lowers your tender to the water. At the starboard corner is a stairway that takes you down to the cockpit. The stairs have a top hatch to close it off. The cockpit features a nearly full-width stainless-steel framed sliding glass door that opens to the salon. The cockpit has faux teak decking, and 2 hatches open to reveal the Onan generator in its sound enclosure and battery banks, plus plenty of storage for water toys, fenders and accessories. On the starboard corner the stairs to the flying bridge lift up to allow access to the engine room. Another vertical locker on port allows additional stowage, and the large swim platform has a retractable swim ladder and covered door. The electrically-operated Glendenning cable master reels into an enclosure for stowing the shore power cable.
Ground tackle consists of a Lewmar Delta stainless steel anchor, and a 250' of chain plus 200' of rope rode. The electric windlass is a Quick unit with foot-operated switches at the bow. Anchor wash down is by your choice of fresh or salt water in a deck locker.
