The 40 Trawler shares the same prestigious pedigree of the best-selling 39, but has many distinctions all her own. Besides the especially spacious interior design, the 40 Trawler sports an expanded flybridge with seating aplenty, with two tables perfectly suited for dining, plus a spectacular summer kitchen for grilling in the great outdoors. The helm station of the 40 Trawler is well-appointed with room for all your gauges and electronic options. The 40 Trawler's aft deck features a set of aluminum glass-paneled doors to really light up the salon. Our design team paid special attention to the 40 Trawler's interior, extending the length a full three feet and maximizing accommodations throughout. The raised salon and galley on the 40 Trawler are crafted in warm, rich cherry wood. Watch your favorite show on the flat panel TV from the contemporary sofa (and optional convertible sleeper), or tune into the standard integrated Bose stereo/DVD. When you are ready to turn in, unwind in the queen-size island berth/master stateroom, complete with hanging lockers, drawers and built-in cabinets. The 40 Trawler also features a guest stateroom that offers twin berths, hanging locker and cabinets.
As you enter from the swim platform though the transom door, you realize just how large the Mainship 400 Trawler truly is. The flybridge overhang allows all weather comfort in the cockpit area and along the side decks. Through the large entry door, you enter the salon area. The salon sole features teak and holly flooring (laminate) and hatch access to the engine room. To port are two new barrel chairs, one ottoman and a lamp table between the chairs. To starboard is the large L-Shaped galley area and access to the flat screen TV and entertainment center above the refrigerator. Further forward and to port is the dinette with two matching stools aft and a bench seat forward. To starboard is the lower helm with sliding side deck access door. Down three stairs, which lift to reveal a large storage area. The steps lift with an electric lift. The guest berth is to port featuring twin berths with access to the head across the hallway to starboard. All the way forward is the centerline queen berth with a custom upgraded mattress and lots of storage (the bed folds up revealing a large under berth storage area). The master has a separate and private head entry.
Back to the cockpit, the lazarette offers ample storage and access to the new generator. Along either side of the cockpit and along the transom are storage areas. To starboard there is a straight, molder, fiberglass stairway that leads to the enormous upper deck and flybridge area. Complete with seating for a crowd, excellent visibility and a summer kitchen area, the bridge deck also features a folding table that allows upper deck dining and entertaining. Surrounded by stainless steel rails and a full Sunbrella enclosure, the upper deck will quickly become your favorite resting and entertaining spot.
Located along the port side of the main cabin, the galley offers exceptional storage and food preparation space that will please the onboard chef.
The electric panel is located along the port side of the main cabin. A custom black acrylic door provides added protection.
Engine room access is through two hatches in the main salon with excellent maneuverability in the engine room and grated flooring.
Owner’s change of plans dictates the sale. Recent upgrades and the addition of the stern thruster will make this Mainship 400 Trawler the one to see.
Easy to see in New Bern, NC (EWN) with jet service via Delta (ATL) and American (CLT).
My wife and I purchased this boat in June with the dream of cruising her to our gulf coast home in Texas. We had her outfitted with some nice improvements, Stern Thruster, Isotherm Refrigerator on the flybridge, new generator, custom mattress, and swivel club chairs, however due to recent health problems we must put the boat up for sale.
This 2007 Mainship 400 is in perfect condition in every way. She was meticulously maintained by a knowledgeable yacht owner. She returned in June 2016 from a 2,800-nautical mile trip from NC down the Atlantic ICW to Florida and then cruised extensively throughout the Bahamas including stops in Bimini, Berry Islands, Nassau, Exumas, Eleuthera, and the Abacos before returning home. She is extremely well equipped with all the modern electronics and comforts of home including a KVH Satellite dome and Direct TV receiver, Samsung flat screen TV and Bose surround sound system in the salon. Visio flat screen TV in master cabin. Recent upgrades in 2017 include a NEW 9KW Kohler generator, NEW Side Power stern thruster, and a NEW built-in Isotherm refrigerator on the flybridge. The master berth has been outfitted with a custom Talalay mattress for outstanding comfort. The salon includes two swivel leather club chairs and matching ottomans for relaxation. Recent maintenance includes all new sanitation hoses and pumps, including a Groco Sweet Tank aeration system for the black water tank which eliminates holding tank odors! The Yanmar 370 HP diesel engine has all new belts, water hoses, clamps, new alternator, new raw water pump and new zincs. The engine oil and filters have been changed every 100 hours and the raw water system has been flushed annually. This boat is equipped with a Racor 1000 fuel polishing system to ensure clean fuel. The bottom was painted in October 2016 and has been cleaned monthly by a diver. In 2016 replaced packing on rudder shaft and replaced seals in hydraulic steering cylinder. I'm a firm believer that investing in preventative maintenance will ensure safe and pleasant cruising for you and your family!
