Let me tell you why i bought this boat: The first time I saw a Hunter 466 my reaction was WOW, what a great interior and what a great cockpit.... it was all about comfort; spaciousness; and creature comforts.
Let's start on the outside. It is so easy to handle..which means single handed. All the lines for the roller furling jib and the main lead back to the cockpit. Using an electric winch handle getting the main out (and back in) is an easy process... no need to be climbing on the deck top trying to get a bulky sail cover on; easy to reef when necessary, even though 20-25 kt winds are totally comfortable. in 2014 the owner put on new canvass (along with a unique full cockpit cover and side curtains). In 2017 a new bimini was added. All are in excellent condition.
Let's go inside: There you find a large comfortable table with two captain chair across on the starboard side with a drink holder between them. Last year all the lights were replaced with LEDs. TVs are in the main salon and in the owners cabin forward. The owners cabin has a memory foam mattress atop a double bed; storage closets on both sides; a separate head (manual) and sink ; and a stall shower. No claustrophobia here. Like to cook? Roomy galley with three burner cooktop; oven with broiler; microwave and a dedicated freezer with a refrigerator with both top and front access, across from a double stainless steel sink. Lots of storage for food and utensils. Just aft of the galley is the third cabin with a comfortable single berth with lost of storage. A dedicated Nav Desk sits just forward of the second head (electric and new in 2016) with separate shower and toilet area. The aft head opens to both the salon area for use as the day head, but also has access from the Starboard Aft cabin - a double berth with foam mattress. The interior's entertainment center includes a Bose sound system and integrated TV for DVD watching. Under the floor boards are two 8D house batteries, new in 2016. The dedicated starting battery was new in 2017. While the dingy died last year the almost new out board engine is mounted on stern rail and is easily handled by the Garhauer lifting mechanism.
The only thing needed here is a new owner... and why is it being sold? To buy a newer bigger boat of course. Oh, there are also four kayaks that will come with the boat which can be placed on the hanging brackets along side the lifelines. New bottom paint in 2017. new Raymarine touch screen GPS in 2015; BOAT OWNED BY A CORP.
FULL DISCLOSURE: THE BOAT IS BEING LISTED BY JACK SILVER, THE BOATS OWNER. CALL JACK SILVER 24/7 FOR SHOWINGS. Of course as the owner, i think it is just a great boat. I know of no issues with the boat. Everything works as advertised.
Versatility best describes the Hunter 466. Whether owners want to cross oceans or bays, bang around the buoys or just liveaboard, this boat has the capacity to do it all. The dinette area is large enough to handle the crew, but intimate enough for just two. Storage is plentiful as is the natural light and ventilation. Hand-rubbed teak and exquisite fabrics are in evidence throughout the grand interior. An innovative forward head arrangement splits the shower and head so both can be used at once. A large dual-opening refrigerator and freezer are central to the U-shaped galley. The Force 10 stove and oven, plus a microwave will make dinners a joy to prepare, while the island sink will have cleanup covered. Storage for everything is at hand including the recessed trash receptacle. The forward master stateroom rivals most yachts twice her size. Twin hanging lockers and lots of drawers make staying aboard easy and a great night's sleep is guaranteed by the innerspring mattresses. Entertaining is gracious with the open salon which incorporates a TV and CD stereo. Twin comfortable seats and a convertible cocktail table are located just forward of the extensive nav station with plenty of space for electronics and gear. Aft, owners have a choice of two layouts: dual staterooms or trade one in for an office / work area. Both are large, airy and comfortable.
