Designed by Philippe Briand, this 26-foot Jeanneau offers a well-finished interior with a surprising volume, without sacrificing its sporting ambitions. Aesthetically, the Sun Fast 26 looks like a boat larger than its 7.50 m. of hull, and at the time called attention by its important freeboard, its straight bows and the prominent cabin. If we add a sleeve of almost 3 m. that reaches the stern itself, we find the embryo of the enormous interior volume and ceiling height of this model. The Sun Fast 26 was one of the first large-scale sailboats to propose as standard the boom extensible to the asymmetric, although the traditional espi option with spinnaker was retained so as not to penalize (at that time) the ratin. As a sports boat and hose, the option of the double rudder seemed the most logical to ensure stability with the heel and there was also an interesting version with folding keel and draft between 0.70 m. and 1.70 m.
