The Beneteau 40 center cockpit features a two stateroom layout. The forward stateroom has a settee to port and a large double Pullman berth to starboard. There is ample stowage in several lockers, drawers (including beneath berth) and shelving. The spacious forward head features a vanity, Jabsco manual head, shower, cabinets and mirror.
The main saloon has a forward facing navigation station (with bench) to port and a large elevated U-shaped dinette to starboard. Hanging lockers and under seat storage. Ambient light and ventilation provided by overhead hatches and opening and fixed ports. Headroom is 6'3". Upholstery fabric is green.
The fully equipped galley is aft of main saloon in passageway to port of companionway and forward engine access. The well thought out galley has two burner gimballed Force Ten stove and oven, double stainless steel sinks, large top loading refrigerator, over and under counter lockers, West Bend microwave and long counter top.
Aft of galley is the master stateroom which features a centerline queen sized berth with access from both sides, vanity desk with mirror and drawers,bedside lockers, large hanging locker, To starboard is the large ensuite head compartment with vanity, Jabsco manual head, cabinets and separate shower.
The hull is constructed in hand laid solid fiberglass with an isophthalic gel coat (that impairs osmosis). Beneteau use proven modular engineering, providing integral strength to the hull with a bonded fiberglass grid that successfully distributes stresses from rigging and keel. The cast iron winged bulb keel is bolted to the hull. The fiberglass sandwich deck is cored with end-grain balsa and is bonded to the hull with 3M 5220 adhesive/sealant and fastenings every six inches. Non skid side decks.
The center cockpit has low backrests that allow easy movement, teak covered bench seats and teak sole. The elkhide covered pedestal mounted Edson wheel is aft (with green wheel cover). There is a fold away cockpit table. The stern is sugar scooped with transom steps,ample boarding space/platform, lockers, swim ladder and cockpit shower.
