Designed by Alan Pape, the Saltram 40 is a classic double-ended, cutter rigged cruising yacht fitted out to a high standard by Skentlebery of Plymouth. Ikinoo is a strongly built yacht finished in white GRP with a green stripe, white superstructure with green treadmaster on deck.
With her aft cockpit, short coachroof and flush deck, Ikinoo is a very attractive yacht of a type commonly regarded as being amongst the most seaworthy yachts built.
Originally fitted with a number of extras and upgrades over and above the standard Saga Saltram 40, Ikinoo is presented as a very well-equipped, easily handled cruising yacht
With her traditional transom hung rudder and tiller you can steer Ikinoo yourself, or leave it to either her electric autohelm or Monitor wind-vane self-steering system.
Fitted with a 59 HP Volvo diesel engine giving a cruising speed of 6 to 8kts.
Below decks, her warm teak interior, exposed beams, green upholstery and Dickinson Newport diesel heater make her as well suited to northern climes as crossing oceans.
Standard Saga 40 hull with short coach roof. The hull is in white GRP, epoxied from new, with a green stripe. The superstructure is white, as is the deck with green treadmaster.
Ikinoo is double ended yacht designed by Alan Pape. With 5 tons of cast iron ballast in her long keel, she is a very stable and seaworthy boat.

Built to a high specification Ikinoo has a number of extras which make her easier and safer to sail.
We have owned Ikinoo since November 1998 and have extensively sailed the West Coast of Scotland in her over the years from Craobh Marina. She is in sound condition and has been regularly maintained over the years with many upgrades, more recently we have replaced the furling gear, battery charger and have added a cockpit canopy.
We are selling the boat reluctantly due to personal circumstances with a view to downsizing at some point in the future.
