Construction- This Ocean Alexander Yacht is a molded fiberglass semi-displacement hull yacht. It is molded in three major sections which are: the hull, superstructure and flybridge. Large flat areas in some sections are reinforced for rigidity by sandwiching a rigid core in between layers of fiberglass, thus obtaining the desired rigidity without materially adding to the weight. The basic fiberglass sections of the boat are both chemically and mechanically bonded together to make the boat an integral unit.
Hull- The hull section is of one piece molded fiberglass construction. There are four molded main fiberglass longitudinal stringers, fiberglass bonded to the hull. Primary transverse bulkheads of marine plywood are fiberglass bonded in place while the hull section is still in the mold.
Deck/Superstructure- The deck/superstructure is molded as one piece. It isfiberglass bonded and mechanically fastened to the hull section to make the two sections integral.
Flybridge- The flybridge is also molded as one piece, and is mechanically fastened to the superstructure.
Fittings- All underwater thru hull fittings are bronze and have seacocks inside the boat. All thru hull fittings are electrically bonded to each other and connected to the boats grounding system
Fuel Tanks- There are three aluminum 5086-H32 fuel tanks. Two one hundred and fifty gallon tanks are located port and starboard midship. One three hundred gallon tank is located centerline aft for a total of six hundred gallons of diesel fuel.
Water Tank- Two eighty gallon water tanks located aft of the engine room port and starboard.
Holding Tank- Single fiberglass forty gallon tank located Forward
Main Engines- Lollygagger is powered by two naturally aspirated model 3208 Caterpillar engines, They are each conntected to a MG-502 twin disc transmission with a reduction ratio of 2.47 :1. The engines were both completely rebuilt in July of 2014. There are extensive maintenance records, receipts,and ship's log entries for both engines and generator. Records indicate maintenance has been done in a correct and efficient manner under current ownership
Generator- Westerbeke 8.0 kw generator
Lollygagger is a comfortable boat that has plenty of room for entertaining friends and family. It has a built in red leather couch along the starboard side that turns along the aft bulkhead. There is a setee in the center that converts from a dining table to a coffee table. moving forward the galley is to port one step down from the main salon. Further down below is the head to starboard with a large shower, head and sink vanity. There is nice cabinetry throughout. The forward v berth is stacked with one bunk over the other in a v pattern. This allows for wider individual bunks. There is a large hanging locker in this berthing area.
Going aft from the salon leads to the master stateroom. There are large hanging lockers on the forward bulkhead and multiple built in drawers line the starboard side. There are built in end tables on either side of the queen size bed. A built in vanity with a pull out seat is along the aft bulkhead. Built in drawers go along the port side and terminate at the head door. The head is roomy with a good size shower and counter top area.
The flybridge area is one of the hightlights of the boat. Egress is simplified bya three step ladder leading from the boat deck to the flybridge. A large L shaped setee with a table goes along the port side and the aft portion of the bridge. Two comfortable chairs sit at the helm where electronics are logically placed, and well organized. Visibilty is excellent with tall eisenglass terminating into an aluminum framed custom hardtop.The three front eisenglas panels are being replaced and will beinstalled soon.
