SUN Odyssey 33, built and launched in 1994. Well presented and very well maintained with new sails and solar panels, and much more. 2 Cabins and 3 double berths.
This Sun Odyssey 33 – 1994 – Spacious, comfortable, fast, and ready to sail single-handed (CAT 1 – ocean crossing vessel). She has already cross the Atlantic twice, and has spent the last 4 seasons cruising the Mediterranean. She has been kitted out with new sails, 4 new solar panels (400w), and a Volvo Penta D130 EVC (27cv) (297 hours).
Under sail, everything has been designed to offer no-hassle, simple sailing: a relaxed cockpit area free of the main traveller and roof mounted winches, factory-fitted wheel, recessed rigging, and genoa-furling gear and 1000w windlass that is all tucked away under the deck line. This Sun Odyssey 33 has all new lines and some new rigging. A symmetric spinnaker with an easy opening and closing sock making downwind a breeze. A spare genoa and storm sail are also stowed below deck.
Drawing only 1.45m this Sun Odyssey 33 can easily moor in those cozy little bays. Once moored, she is very comfortable with a new Bimini top that provides shade for the whole cockpit, two new line bags (2017) providing good storage for all the lines, a folding table (3 different positions) and a easy swim step on the transom extension with a built-in-swimladder and freshwater shower. Under each bench there are large compartments that contain the propane tanks, spinnaker, fenders, and lines with extra room for outdoor accessories. She has a Danforth/fluke 20kg anchor with 30m of chain and a 2nd Delta 16kg anchor with 30m of chain. She has a very sophisticated NKE hydraulic ram Autopilot, Sonar depth finder and magnetic speedometer will sensors all over the boat providing a very sophisticated self sailing system that self tacks and can be set to sail for several different sailing modes.
For its’ size, you will be amazed at the amount of living space in the interior with ample storage under all the seats. The saloon’s ergonomic design features a settee that converts to a double berth, ample headroom, and no fewer than eleven hatches and ports which ventilate and bathe the interior in light. She has been converted to a 2-Cabin Owners version that comfortably accommodate up to 6, each of the cabins offers a high degree of comfort with large hanging-locker, ample floor space and ventilation via portholes. The two double aft cabins have been converted into one large master birth providing enough space for a queen size mattress (280cm x 170cm). The double fore cabin is unchanged and has a vanity unit.
The " American-style " in-line galley has been designed to offer a wide range of stowage areas with a 2 burners gimbaled oven, a fresh and saltwater pump to the sink, and fridge freezer that can make a nice block of ice per day using only solar power. A track-mounted settee makes the salon into a fully-closed off dining area.
This Sun Odyssey 33 has also been fitted with a PEPWAVE – mast antenna mounted LTE/4G internet router, providing fast WIFI internet hotspot using up to 2 SIM card slots, a powerful 1000w windlass and hot water boiler/tank. 4x 100w Sunrupu solar panel with a MPPT controller provides enough power to run the fridge/freezer, autopilot, 2 laptops during the day, and all other appliances. She has been well maintained with the current owners only sailing for 2-3months during the summer and stowed on the dry during the winter. Oil, fluids, belts, and impeller has been changed every year in the engine. The main drive shaft wet seal was changed in 2014. The anodes were changed 2016. She has a 2-spade propeller for minimal drag under sail.
This Sun Odyssey 33 is currently available for viewing on the island of Aegina, Greece (20 minute fast ferry from Athens) @ 120Euros a month to store on dry including hauling she is very reasonable own.
