The Channel Island 22 is a popular motor cruiser ideal for fishing and family cruising. This example is very nicely presented for her age and is fitted with the economic and easily kept Ford Mermaid 80hp diesel engine. The external cockpit cover has been replaced in 2017. This Channel Island 22 has a very roomy Wheelhouse with 5ft 8in headroom. The Wheelhouse has an insert for the foreword seating area to make it into a large double berth. Aft of the saloon seating is a small galley area with a sink with 25 litre pressurised hot and cold water. Hot water provided by a calorifier. The galley has a twin gas burner hob, oven, coolbox and storage cupboards.
Opposite the galley is a small head compartment with hand basin, hot and cold water and marine toilet.
Saloon has blue upholstery, with Radio and CD. There is a large cockpit area with all round seating around and storage lockers and davits.
This Channel Island 22 has a Ford Mermaid Dorset 80HP naturally aspirated diesel engine located under the aft cockpit sole with 729 hours as at 18th August 2017. Freshwater cooled. Engine, Gearbox friction disc and gearbox serviced 2017. New starter motor 2017. 2 x 200 Litre approx. stainless-steel fuel tanks. It has a shaft drive (new 2014) to a 3-blade bronze prop – new 2014. Cutlass bearing replaced 2014. Heat Exchanger, Gearbox, replaced 2013. Maximum speed of 12 knots with a cruising speed of 6 knots. It has a range of approximately 200nm.
2 x 95AMP Hour 12 Volt batteries (1 x engine + 2 x domestic) 2015 charging from alternator.
Built in 1985. Blue painted (2016) GRP hull and decks with painted non-slip surfaces. Wheel steering. Rope toe rails. Stainless steel stanchions, pulpit. Glass windscreen with chrome surround. Self-draining cockpit. Last out of the water 2016 when anodes changed, antifouled. Hull last epoxied 2012.
