Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best looking, best equipped, best maintained, most over the top Sea Sprite in the entire world. The owner’s fanatical attention to detail is obvious, although it’s the details that really will get to you. The radar has a counterweight on a gimbal so it always stays level. The teak strips in the cabin top appear to all be the same size, but are in fact of different width so that they balance harmoniously with the off-center companionway. There are custom engraved plates on the bulwarks aft, a custom stained glass companionway hatch, custom dual hatch screens, custom lighting for all lockers of the boat, custom cockpit grates, custom covers for the teak rails and cabin siding, a custom table and seat backs… you get the picture. The portholes are so shiny you can use them as mirrors. Same with the custom stainless plate that protects the bow from the anchor. The teak is so clean that a playing card would hover right above it. In terms of equipment, the question isn’t what the boat has, the question is what the boat doesn’t have. To name just a few: bowthruster (with remote), air conditioning (and heat), radar, windlass, hydraulic autopilot, dodger, etc. Upgrades? Hull paint in 2015 (it’s called Timeless Green… it can be black, green or blue depending on the angle of the sun) and bottom paint last year. Sails are three years old. Cabin sole is new. The entire wiring system on the boat is new, along with a new Blue Sea electrical panel. Every single light on the boat is LED. It goes on and on. Of course, the boat has never seen salt water, is equipped with a Universal diesel (with less than five hundred hours) and is only on her second owner. And of course, she’s stored indoors, heated, every winter.
Whether you are looking for a fully equipped blue water boat for a Pacific adventure, or just want the very best for sunsets on Lake Michigan, this boat will fit the picture. It was built by craftsmen for owners who expect nothing but the finest. It’s a boat in the truest sense of the word, a machine to take you to the edge of the world, and turn every single head on the way there. It’s an opportunity to own a piece of history without all the hassle – no projects or upgrades to plan, just launch and go. The jackstands are included but you won’t mind leaving them behind.
I’ve seen a lot of boats in my life, some great, some good, some bad, but I have never seen anything like this one. My only regret in listing “Panache” is that despite my best efforts no picture truly does her justice, so I heartily encourage you to come see the boat in person. You will see yourself in the reflection of the hull, and you might see yourself on your way to some far-off destination as well.
