Nautilus Yacht Management is very proud to present 'The Doctor'!
Designed and built by the renowned Phil Atkinson, this quality yacht combines all the features of a modern cruising vessel such as: speed, responsiveness, comfort, large safe cockpit, accessible swim platform with hot and cold shower and top of the range cruising electronics. Yet a closer look will reveal a more classic approach to boat building where strength, seaworthiness and craftsmanship are revealed in every detail.
The build profile of the Doctor makes her far stronger than most production fibreglass yachts. At her core is strip planked Queensland Kauri, a timber that has long been recognised by shipwrights for its solidity and its high resistance to water degradation. The hull was then glassed inside and out. The result is a boat that has the look and ease of maintenance of a fibreglass yacht with the unique features of a wooden vessel. Features such as: a stronger stiffer hull suited to high latitude exploring, a yacht that remains cool in hot weather and warm and dry in cooler climates, a yacht that provides the muffled tones of wood on water rather than the slap of fibreglass or clang of metal and finally the warmth and glow to a solid teak interior.
This beautiful yacht was refitted several times by her proud owners, the most recent taking place in 2015 and she presents in excellent condition. As the owners are liveaboard cruisers, this beautiful yacht is given the utmost love and care and rarely left unattended. She is equipped for long-distance cruising and particularly suited to more challenging ocean conditions.
She has sailed the east and west coast of Australia and South East Asia and has proven to be a comfortable, fast and graceful yacht which eats up sea miles effortlessly and handles all conditions well.
The Doctor is a yacht to fall in love with for many reasons. If you are looking for a yacht that combines graceful motion, balanced lines, a comfortable and well protected cockpit , a clear deck with secure and solid stainless handrails, a spacious and well designed interior with all the comforts of home then look no further. She presents as the perfect choice as a liveaboard cruiser for a couple or small family. Lastly she is set up for easy and safe sailing, solo or short handed.
The Doctor is presently moored in Langkawi and awaiting new owners to take her on her next adventure. Why not start your cruising life in one of best cruising destinations of the world.
