"Just William" is a Conquest 23 Rob Humphries Mini Ton design. She is a pretty looking, fast and fun boat that sails extremely well. Originally purchased by her present owner when new she was sailed as a club racer, performing very well, winning a number of local prizes. For the last 25 years or more she has been used as a family cruiser and has been re-fitted with good accommodation for a small family, considering her size. Her owners have cruised the East Coast with their young daughter for many years. She is set up for single handed sailing and handles very easily. She has had light use most of her life and is a well known local boat.
Originally her owner purchased her from drawings, ordering her at the Southampton Boat Show in 1978, she was delivered in 1979. She is described by her owner as being in good condition but the green panels on the topsides now need a repaint. Everything works and she is a pleasure to sail. The recent addition of a longer shaft outboard engine meant that she can also be motored much more efficiently.
Her owner stripped the hull back to the GRP in Spring 2017 and had her coated with Hempel SFE in May 2017 with new primer and antifouling applied. At this point her owner had not decided to change boats however her owner has recently purchased a larger boat due to age and infirmity.
"Just William" would suit a younger family for cruising or someone who wants a competitive boat for club racing.
