The Allegra was custom build in 1970 in Cape Town South Africa, by shipyard Fred Ladegourdie, from the drawing of Francis S. Kinney, designer of Sparkman & Stephens. After changing owners several times a Dutch sailer had the opportunity to purchase Allegra from an English couple. After a year's restoration he sailed for over year with her to the Caribbean. In 1998 the current Dutch owner managed to purchase Allegra and has now enjoyed her for more than 17 years. During his ownership Allegra was kept in good condition.
Despite the 'fame and reputation' of the Pipe Dream design, not much boats where actually build. Now, with Allegra being on the market a rare and interesting opportunity if offered.
Allegra is currently lying in the coastal region of The Netherlands (approx. 60 South of Rotterdam), where she can be viewed on appointment. For more information please visit our company website: jachtmakelaardijkappers.nl
