60 Grit

1967/2006 33’ Peterson Trawler

60 Grit is a complete rebuild and conversion of a 1967 US Navy fiberglass hull.  The rebuild/conversion was done by John Lee, who ran Summerfield Boat Works, a well respected yard in Fort Lauderdale. John rebuilt 60 Grit from the keel up as his personal vessel. He focused on reliability with extensive use of redundant systems. For example, the vessel has eight dedicated bilge pumps, separate alternators for the house and engine batteries and redundant fuel filters for both the main engine and the genset. The rebuild was completed in 2006 and reflects the culmination of John’s lifetime of experience repairing and building boats. Full documentation of the vessel build and manuals for all equipment convey with the vessel.
