TADPOLE has been the same name since delivered new in Seattle in 1936. Always kept in the water year around, undercover, she has survived with are her original components intact. Spending a couple of decades unrecognized as an antique, she hid her mahogany finishes under layers of white latex paint inside and out. Discovered and recognized by a restoration specialist of fine antiques, the TADPOLE underwent its first restoration in the 70's. In the 80's the vessel sold to another purist, continuing the preservation without alteration. In the 90's, another owner campaigned TADPOLE in wooden boat gatherings garnering multiple awards for both originality and condition. In 2008 the present owner, a collector of many fine arts and automobiles acquired TADPOLE and went the distance to bring the standards of finish and condition to their highest with the help of the original restoration shipwright that saved TADPOLE in the 70's. The finishes, bright work, canvas, chrome, polished pieces, wiring, electrical system and upholstered pieces have never been to the level they are today. The motor, The Chrysler ACE is a replacement of the original 1936 motor. The ACE in a 1955 vintage, likely installed new, now rebuilt and more dependable than the original. There is nothing needing attention on hold. This is a beautiful piece of a bygone era, to be enjoyed and recognized for the attention to craftsmanship. TADPOLE is all the fun of the mahogany runabout, with the luxury of a cabin and head for more comfortable excursions. Sadly, the current owner is moving away where there is no suitable cruising. Sometimes to love is to let go. This is an opportunity to own a real "pre-war" classic in a very manageable size.
